Director of College Sports Partnerships
StubHub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. Whether someone is looking to attend their first event or their hundredth, we’re here to delight them all the way from the moment they start looking for a ticket until they step through the gate. The same goes for our sellers. From fans selling a single ticket to the promoters of a worldwide stadium tour, we want StubHub to be the safest, most convenient way to offer a ticket to the millions of fans who browse our platform around the world.
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Director of College Sports Partnerships. In this role, you’ll develop and close direct partnerships with athletic departments, conferences, and affiliated entities to distribute tickets via StubHub. You’ll be responsible for the full deal lifecycle — from prospecting and relationship development to negotiation and execution.
This role is high-impact and relationship-driven, requiring extensive travel to meet with partners, attend events, and represent StubHub at industry gatherings. You will report to the Head of Sports Partnerships and collaborate with legal, operations, and product teams to bring new partnerships to life.
Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY or Santa Monica, CA
What You'll Do:
- Identify, prioritize, and lead partnership opportunities with U.S. college sports programs.
- Own end-to-end deal execution — sourcing, outreach, pitch, negotiation, contract close, and onboarding.
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with athletic departments, conferences, and stakeholders.
- Represent StubHub at campus meetings, games, and college sports events to foster relationships and uncover new opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (legal, product, marketing, operations) to structure and operationalize deals.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and evolving partner needs to inform strategy.
- Report regularly on pipeline progress, deal performance, and revenue contribution.
What You've Done:
- 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sponsorship sales — ideally with significant exposure to college athletics.
- Demonstrated success negotiating and closing high-value partnerships with senior stakeholders.
- Deep familiarity with the U.S. college sports landscape, including athletic department operations and decision-makers.
- Existing relationships across the NCAA ecosystem are a strong plus.
- Prior experience in ticketing, sports tech, or live event partnerships preferred.
- Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) to meet partners and attend events.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
- Passion for college sports and StubHub’s mission to power unforgettable live experiences.
What We Offer:
- Accelerated Growth Environment: Immerse yourself in an environment designed for swift skill and knowledge enhancement, where you have the autonomy to lead experiments and tests on a massive scale.
- Top Tier Compensation Package: Enjoy a rewarding compensation package that includes enticing stock incentives, aligning with our commitment to recognizing and valuing your contributions.
