Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This role requires a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and big data management. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large data sets and possess a keen analytical mind to drive insights and accurate financial reporting. Additionally, this role will involve close collaboration with our Financial Technology (FinTech) team to improve, automate, and innovate our financial processes.
What You'll Do
- Review month-end journal entries, supporting schedules, and reconciliations related to Revenue, AR, Payable, and other marketplace related accounts.
- Work with large datasets to support accounting operations, reconciliation, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Partner with the FinTech team to develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions for accounting processes, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
- Design and improve processes for data extraction, transformation, and analysis to facilitate financial reporting and compliance.
- Analyze and interpret complex financial data to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to provide required documentation and analysis for audits.
- Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to process improvement, technology integration, and data analytics.
What You've Done
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Mix of public and private experience, Big 4 experience preferred.
- Experience in the FinTech industry and working with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) preferred.
- Experience working with large datasets, data manipulation, and financial analysis using tools like SQL, Excel, Python, Power Query or similar.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams, particularly with technology-focused teams such as FinTech or Engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, LOOKUP formulas, Data Modeling) and familiarity with accounting software (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with automation tools is a plus.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.

$160,000 - $180,000 USD
