Salary Range: £85,000 - £95,000 base salary per annum + commission

The Pre-Sales Consultant Role  

This role plays a key part in helping prospective customers understand how the Send insurance platform can transform their underwriting operations. Working closely with our sales team, you will engage with insurers to understand their challenges and demonstrate how our platform delivers real, measurable value.

As a Pre-Sales Consultant, you will take a consultative approach to customer engagement - translating technical capabilities into clear business outcomes. You’ll lead tailored product demonstrations, support proof-of-concept engagements, and collaborate closely with product, sales, and delivery teams to ensure prospects gain a deep understanding of Send’s technology and the impact it can have on their business.

Our Story:

We started Send because insurers had been let down for too long by rigid, legacy technology. The industry was ready to work differently – and so were we.

In 2017, our three founders set out with a clear vision: to transform commercial underwriting by combining advanced technology with deep industry expertise.

By 2019, we delivered our first commercial and specialty underwriting platform for Aviva GCS, streamlining operations, increasing efficiency, and giving teams the visibility they needed to make faster, better decisions.

Over the next six years, we rolled out multiple underwriting platform solutions across the UK and US, proving that modern underwriting technology could be powerful, flexible, and rapidly delivered.

In 2022, we won three industry awards and secured a $10m Series A to accelerate our growth. By 2024, Send was recognised as a “Leader” by IDC, Celent, and Datos – a testament to our momentum and our customers’ success.

In 2025, we doubled in size and deepened our expertise in both the London Market and North America – becoming the only underwriting platform purpose-built to support multiple operating models.

But we're not finished. Insurers want orchestration, not siloed systems. That’s why we continue to invest in our platform and orchestration engine – helping our customers win better business, faster.

  

The Send Team 

Over the past two years, Send has experienced significant growth, expanding our team by over 50% to more than 120 people. At the start of 2024, our team was primarily based in the UK and Poland. Since then, we’ve taken major steps toward building a global presence, with team members now located across the UK, US, India, and Ireland-all working collaboratively toward our vision of becoming the market-leading software platform for agile insurers.

 

Our Funding 

From 2017 to 2022, we bootstrapped our growth journey, building a profitable and stable company. In November 2022, following a year of strong customer and team growth, we secured $10 million in Series A funding to accelerate our expansion across the UK and US, as well as to further enhance our product development. We’re proud to have the support and expertise of our investors, Mercia and Breega.

We are now preparing for our Series B round and are excited about the growth acceleration this will enable. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing as a Pre-Sales Consultant  

Customer Sales Support

  • Partner with our UK sales teams to understand customer challenges and strategic objectives, identifying how the Send insurance platform can best support their underwriting operations.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations and support proof-of-concept engagements, working closely with sales and pre-sales engineering teams to showcase the value of Send’s platform.
  • Provide product and market expertise throughout the sales cycle, helping customers navigate complex buying decisions and ensuring a smooth and engaging evaluation process.
  • Support RFP and proposal responses, clearly articulating how Send’s functionality and feature set can be applied and configured to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with the sales team to help develop compelling business cases, ROI models, and clear competitive positioning.
  • Capture insights from customer engagements to help refine sales messaging and strengthen our go-to-market approach.

Product & Market Collaboration

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our pre-sales demo environments to ensure engaging and impactful customer experiences.
  • Act as a voice of the customer by sharing feedback and insights from the UK market with our product and technology teams.
  • Support the development of sales collateral, case studies, and technical documentation that helps customers better understand Send’s platform.

 

The Skills and Experience Needed for the Pre-Sales Consultant Role  

  • Insurance Industry Knowledge – Good understanding of the P&C insurance market and the underwriting ecosystem, with the ability to engage in meaningful conversations with insurance stakeholders.
  • Consultative Solutioning – Experience working in a Pre-Sales, Solutions Consulting, or similar customer-facing role within a SaaS, technology, or consulting environment. Comfortable uncovering customer challenges, shaping solutions, and communicating the value of technology to different audiences.
  • Self-Starter – Able to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively, and take a proactive approach to supporting sales opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Confident presenting to a range of stakeholders including underwriting teams, technology leaders, and transformation or innovation teams within insurance organisations.
  • Sales Collaboration – Experience working closely with sales teams to support complex sales cycles, including product demonstrations, RFP responses, and solution positioning.
  • Technical Understanding – Ability to communicate technical concepts such as APIs, integrations, and data flows to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Comfortable working with sales, product, delivery, and engineering teams to support a strong and consistent customer engagement process.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience working within a high-growth SaaS or Insurtech environment.
  • Familiarity with underwriting platforms, policy administration systems (PAS), or claims technology

Pre-Sales Consultant Interview Process 

Our recruitment process for the Pre-Sales Consultant role consists of at least three stages: 

Stage 1 – Interview with Liam Longstaff-Pagoni, senior Talent Partner (45 minutes)

Stage 2 – Interview with Tom Rhoades, Senior Manager, Global Pre-Sales Consultant

(30 minutes)

Stage 3 – Interview with Lloyd Peters, Head of Revenue and Tom Rhoades (30 minutes)

30-minute call with a Send Founder
