We are world leaders and proud of our achievements – but to stay ahead we need the brightest and most talented innovators to join our development team and right now we are looking for a product owner with excellent product development skills to design the next generation of our digital preservation solutions.

 

The Role:

You will be a key member of a geographically distributed team, championing the needs of our customers. You will work with software engineers (frontend, backend, and devops), quality engineers, designers and an agile delivery lead to define, build and deliver functionality that meets both customer needs and our business goals.

You will:

- Own one or more product areas, developing a strong understanding of jobs-to-be-done and user sentiment for this area

- Work with design, internal stakeholders, and users to gather detailed requirements

- Work with the sprint team to gain a shared understanding of those requirements, using techniques such as user story mapping, refine them into user stories, and set goals with the team to deliver on them

- Collaborate closely with your tech lead and agile delivery manager

- Rally stakeholders around the team’s work, ensuring a successful launch of the features they deliver

- Manage and prioritise the product backlog and ensure the team is aligned to deliver maximum value through effective scoping and sizing of planned features

- Work with your product manager to input into the roadmap

- Collaborate with a team of product owners and product managers

This is a one year fixed term contract based from our offices in Abingdon. The role can be either office based or worked as hybrid with regular office days.

 

What We Look For:

A highly motivated self-starter, to be part of Preservica you need:

- Interest in understanding our product and customers.

- Proven experience as a product owner in an agile, product development team.

- Experience with planning techniques like user story mapping.

- A hands-on approach to working with developers and testers to building new product features.

- Degree level education in an engineering / software / system related subject or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience.

 

You will also need to:

- Work to tight deadlines, take a lead in planning and preparing for refinements with the sprint team

- Be personable and have good communication skills, be pro-active and confident to present in team meetings and in front of customers when required.

- Be able to communicate with senior level stakeholders.
