Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support financial licensing, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance processes across the EU and UK. This role offers hands-on experience in managing legal requests, maintaining documentation, drafting agreements and assisting with audits under the guidance of Senior Legal Counsel.

Your regular tasks:

  • Assist with financial licensing processes in the EU, UK, and other regions under the guidance of senior counsel.
  • Support the process of maintaining and opening correspondent, safeguarding and operational bank accounts.
  • Draft policies, such as but not limited to Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions.
  • Draft agreements such as but not limited to NDA, MSA, Employment Agreement, Outsourcing agreement, Loan Agreement, Outstaffing Agreement etc.
  • Help manage legal requests and RFIs (banks, authorities) by gathering information and preparing initial responses.
  • Assist with record keeping and structuring of the company’s legal documentation and information.
  • Act as a support contact for correspondence with local law firms, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor updates to financial regulations (banking, EMIs, PIs, AML, KYC, data protection laws) and assist in implementing necessary changes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of corporate compliance and governance programs.
  • Support the implementation of governance policies and updates related to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with crisis response and risk mitigation strategies under the guidance of Senior Legal Counsel.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as Legal Counsel
  • Proficiency in technology and understanding of fintech-related software and systems, including payment processing, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud measures
  • Experience with opening international bank accounts and communication with regulatory bodies
  • Proficient communication skills to interact with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies, with the ability to convey financial and technical information clearly

Skills:

  • Understanding of international corporate law, general tax principles, GDPR, due diligence for corporate entities, EU licensing and compliance principles
  • Knowledge of dealing with audits, correspondent and corporate bank accounts etc
  • Common knowledge in FinTech industry
  • Will be preferable previous experience in regulated companies and achieving financial, banking, gaming or other licensing in EU,UK, or other developed countries/regions

Tools:

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Jira or similar tools

As a plus

  • Experience in fintech companies or companies that provide consultancy regarding payments compliance. 
  • Experience in handling cross-border legal matters.
