Transaction Monitoring Specialist

We seek a driven and meticulous Transaction Monitoring Specialist to join our dynamic team. You'll be pivotal in safeguarding our operations by overseeing transaction monitoring processes, ensuring compliance, and leading a team to excellence.

Your regular tasks

• Review transactions alerted for monitoring checks by internal/external transaction monitoring systems/tools
• Review rules/logic/efficiency of internal/external transaction monitoring systems/tools, and implement changes whenever required/approved by the Head of the Unit
• Conduct in-depth investigations into potentially fraudulent or suspicious activities, including customer transactions, account movements, and third-party relationships
• Analyse customer data, financial records, and other relevant information to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate money laundering or other financial crimes
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing investigation findings, including recommendations for further action or potential sanctions
• Update TM-related policies, procedures, and instructions whenever required/approved by the Head of the Unit
• Provide training and guidance to other team members on AML best practices, regulatory requirements, and suspicious activity reporting protocols when required
• Onboard & mentor team members/other specialists when necessary
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share information, develop preventive measures, and enhance AML procedures (training, presentations, materials preparation)

Skills & Expectations 

•  3+ years of experience in AML investigations, financial crime prevention, or a related field
• Work experience at companies similar to the service perspective EMIs/PSPs (IBAN, Digital wallets, Cards, Acquiring solutions)
• Demonstrated expertise in AML regulations, including KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring
• Proficient in using AML investigation software and analytical tools (e.g. ComplyAdvantage, LexisNexis, SumSub)
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills
• Upper Intermediate/Advanced level of English proficiency
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

As a plus (for the Team Lead position)

• TM/AML policies, procedures, instructions development & implementation
• Audit (internal/external) preparation/submission experience
• Work experience with TM/investigation of high-risk customers (e.g. iGaming, crypto, forex)
