Account Manager

As an Account Manager at pawaPay, you will play a key role in fostering long-term, trusting relationships with clients, connecting with key stakeholders, and identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, compliance, treasury etc)) to ensure client satisfaction and drive strategic growth.

Your main duties will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring smooth communication and satisfaction with pawaPay services
  • Developing and executing tailored business plans to optimise transaction volume and identify expansion opportunities
  • Driving adoption of relevant products and services, such as FX swaps and market expansion solutions
  • Providing performance insights, including transaction volume trends and revenue performance analysis, through detailed quarterly reports
  • Conducting regular business reviews with clients to assess performance, track progress, and uncover new growth opportunities
  • Monitoring key metrics such as client retention, revenue growth, and Net Promoter Scores (NPS) to measure client satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
  • Acting as a liaison between clients and internal teams to resolve operational challenges and deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Identifying trends and opportunities for further growth, collaborating with sales and marketing teams to drive new business
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including timely responses to inquiries and requests
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.

You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • 3+ years of proven work experience in account management or sales, preferably in the fintech or payments industry
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with a proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Knowledge of the African mobile money payments landscape is considered an advantage.
