Director, Market Development - Precision Medicine

OGT are looking to strengthen their Pharma Partnering team by adding a market development lead who is looking to go beyond business-as-usual and get deeply involved not only in driving near-term revenue growth but also in shaping the product and market strategies we need to win in a competitive market.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Leverage your strong existing network of contacts in biopharma translational science and precision medicine to undertake targeted business development campaigns for OGT’s product and precision medicine service
  • Be accountable for delivery of agreed revenue targets, opportunity pipeline development and other commercial objectives
  • Build new relationships with both early-stage biotech’s and more established pharma to promote awareness and understanding of our precision medicine services and gather market insights to inform future product development
  • Attend industry and academic conferences to gather insights into competitor offerings and new scientific and clinical developments in our target biopharma markets
  • Use your expertise in oncology precision medicine to identify opportunities for new product development that address unmet needs for biomarker testing in oncology drug development
  • Contribute your market insights and oncology precision medicine expertise to new product development initiatives
  • Be responsible for initiating and managing scientific collaborations with external industry and/or academic partners
  • Work closely with global marketing and NA commercial teams to develop marketing strategies that are synergistic with those of OGT’s clinical laboratory business.

What we’re looking for in you:

Essential

  • Masters or PhD level qualification in biological or medical science (or equivalent level of scientific or clinical experience gained in industry/healthcare)
  • Strong existing network of relationships in biopharma translational medicine and/or precision medicine departments
  • Previous commercial success in business and/or market development for diagnostics or life science research tools (ideally focused on biopharma customers)
  • Deep knowledge of how oncology precision medicines are developed in biopharma
  • Creative, agile and curious mindset underpinned by the high level of technical acumen required to interact credibly with scientific and clinical KOLs in the precision medicine field
  • Strong self-leader with the confidence to work autonomously, be entrepreneurial and take smart risks
  • A persuasive and influential communicator who is comfortable navigating complex, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups to drive forward new ideas and complex projects
  • Willingness to take on a fully remote, field-based role which requires >50% domestic and international travel.

Desirable

  • Experience in scientific product marketing and/or market research
  • Technical expertise in any of genomic and other molecular technologies, immunoassay, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, histology
  • Knowledge of the biologic, cell therapy and immunotherapy drug development markets.
