GIS Analyst
THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and data-focused GIS Analyst to join our ESG team. In this role, you will support the Geospatial Manager and the broader ESG team by creating, managing, and analysing spatial data essential for due diligence processes across UK and international funds. You will create and maintain company web GIS applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Contributing to our nature, climate and social strategies, you will develop standardised processes, capture supporting datasets and ensuring an auditable trail for ESG reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those early in their careers to gain hands-on experience in GIS within the sustainable finance sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively managing spatial databases for our solar and storage assets, ensuring systematic updates with data deliverables from consultants, contractors, publicly available datasets and survey information
- Ensure data quality through data standardisation, metadata creation and management.
- Document workflows, creating standardised process documentation and writing guidance documents.
- Maintain nature / climate / social strategy datasets and links to all relevant evidence, ensuring auditable trail of ESG reporting data
- Support the wider team through Environmental and Social Due Diligence processes by digitising assets, incorporating CAD designs, conducting geospatial analysis and producing high quality mapping products of potential constraints and opportunities of site locations.
- Work closely with the Geospatial Manager to improve current use and deployment of GIS technology throughout the company identifying potential geospatial solutions, creating efficient workflows and processes, engaging with stakeholders and creating bespoke solutions.
- Create, maintain and update internal ArcGIS Online applications, including WebApps, Dashboards and StoryBoards.
- Provide high-quality, error-free cartographic and geospatial support and analysis for internal reporting requirements as well as external disclosure and ESG reporting
- Continuously improve data by investigating when errors/problems are identified within existing data.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year experience with a degree and/or masters in Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) or relevant technical experience.
- Experience in GIS / data management/ data engineering /coding.
- Experience with ESRI products, including ArcGIS Pro, AGOL Web Maps, Application, Dashboards, Story Boards.
- Familiarity with CAD based software (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation), Web-based GIS technologies, coding (Python, R) as well as other desktop GIS software (e.g. FME, QGIS).
- Power BI and dashboard design, remote sensing and image processing skills in context of environmental applications and assessment desirable.
- Comfortable with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), email/internet, other IT applications.
