The Hardware Development Team is responsible for the end-to-end development of all key hardware components of the Self-Driving System (SDS), including cameras, radars, lidars, and high-performance compute platforms. We collaborate closely with national and international partners, Tier-1 suppliers, and diverse stakeholders across the Volkswagen Group to deliver robust, future-ready hardware solutions for autonomous driving.
In this role, you act as the OEM-side Technical Project Lead for the SDS hardware domain, coordinating requirements, development progress, maturity tracking, release readiness, and configuration alignment across all SDS hardware components.
What you will do
- Plan, align, and execute development-supporting tasks across all SDS hardware components.
- Coordinate the definition of component requirements based on laws, standards, internal regulations, and system needs.
- Synchronize technical requirements with national and international partners and engineering service providers.
- Coordinate hardware development activities according to e.g. VW99000, VW80000, and PEP milestones.
- Manage technical release activities for SDS hardware across vehicle generations and integration levels.
- Track maturity levels of all SDS hardware components across suppliers and development partners.
- Drive change and issue management for all technically relevant conflicts within SDS hardware scope.
- Oversee derivation, tracking, and delivery of supplier work products aligned with VW/MOIA release milestones.
- Manage and align all hardware-related configuration items within the SAFe framework, ensuring consistent baselines across all stakeholders.
