About Modo Energy

The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it.

We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.

Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast.

This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it's scaling globally.

The Role

We're hiring a Power Market Analyst to keep our products running smoothly and to build what comes next. You'll sit between our market experts and our engineers. You'll ship new features, coach Ko (our AI analyst), and maintain the products our customers depend on, keeping them operating at a high standard every day.

This is a hands-on, AI-native role. You'll work with power market data and the systems behind our products. Your work will help developers, owners, operators, investors, and lenders understand how batteries earn revenue, how market conditions are changing, and what that means commercially.

You'll be part of our Regional European Markets team, reporting to the Market Head for Germany, Poland, and Italy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and ship new BESS revenue modelling features, working with engineering to deploy them directly to customers.
  • Coach Ko, our AI analyst: ingest new datasets as they land, train Ko to answer questions with sample queries, and work with the Ko Analytics team to guide the regional market roadmap.
  • Maintain the products customers depend on, keeping forecasts, benchmarks, and data feeds running at a high standard of quality.
  • Manage product release processes end-to-end: tracking model updates, communicating impact, deploying artefacts on the Modo Terminal for customers.

What We're Looking For

The Essentials

  • You're comfortable building tools and workflows using AI
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in power markets, energy analytics, data, or a technical analyst role.
  • You can work in Python and SQL, interrogate complex datasets, and pick up new tools quickly.
  • Familiarity with battery energy storage or wider energy transition themes.

Nice To Have

  • Market expertise in the Polish, Italian, or German power markets.
  • Experience with data pipelines or workflow orchestration.

What You Can Expect From Us

At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward. We're a high-performance team; ambitious, collaborative, and genuinely motivated by the scale of what we're trying to build.

You'll have real ownership from day one, work alongside some of the brightest people in the industry, and be part of a company that's defining a new category in the global energy market. We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. We offer top-of-market compensation, equity for every employee, and the space to take your career wherever you want it to go.

We're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers. If that's you, we want to talk.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
