Senior QA Tester / Future Deputy QA Lead - Space Engineers 2

Prague

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior QA Tester to join our QA team and help us improve our game project, Space Engineers 2.

This role is ideal for someone who takes QA seriously, understands game development, and wants to have a real impact on the quality of the final product. We are searching for a person who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.

As a game studio, we value people who are passionate about games, open to learning new things, and able to communicate clearly and professionally with developers, designers, and production.

This position is focused on senior QA work within the project, but for the right person there is a clear opportunity to grow into a QA Lead role and take ownership of the project QA direction in the future. This is the long-term goal we are primarily looking for.

We offer flexibility, ownership, and the chance to leave your mark on one of the most technically ambitious sandbox engineering games ever made.

Required Profile

  • Fluency in Czech and English
  • At least 5 years of professional QA experience in the gaming industry
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with testing game systems, features, and technical implementations
  • Good understanding of development workflows and bug reporting standards
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for product quality
  • Ability to take ownership of quality standards and continuously push the project quality bar higher
  • Experience leading at least a small team is required
  • Good management skills, including the ability to organize work, review the work of others, and maintain high QA standards across the team
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for important areas of the project
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and willingness to improve
  • Willingness to visit the office when necessary (for example playtests, evaluations, or important meetings; office located in Prague)

Due to the seniority of this role, we will only consider candidates who meet the requirements above.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active involvement in the development of Space Engineers 2, including systematic testing of gameplay mechanics, content, technical systems, and regression testing throughout the full development cycle
  • Collaboration with a smaller but experienced QA team focused on technical testing and validation of both the project itself and the internal tools used for development
  • Investigation of issues reported by QA, players, developers, or community feedback channels, with clear reporting, prioritization, and ownership of follow-up actions
  • Cooperation with developers, designers, and production to ensure high product quality and smooth delivery of releases and hotfixes
  • Taking responsibility for maintaining and improving the overall quality of the project, including identifying risks and pushing for important fixes when needed
  • Helping define testing priorities, workflows, and quality standards for the project while supporting team efficiency and long-term quality goals
  • Supporting the team with technical QA knowledge, reviewing work quality, and helping improve internal processes and team standards
