We are Keen Software House and GoodAI — an independent, 100% founder-owned game and AI development group based in Prague. Our flagship game, Space Engineers, has sold over 5 million copies. We are fully self-funded with an annual gross revenue exceeding 10 million USD. We are building both entertainment products and long-term technology with a focus on autonomy, simulation, and resilient systems.

We are hiring a trustworthy, detail-oriented expert to internalize and improve our finance, accounting, and compliance operations. You'll take responsibility for day-to-day accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance while gradually optimizing internal systems.

This is a hands-on role, suitable for someone who enjoys ownership of financial operations and wants to help build efficient internal systems with minimal reliance on external vendors. You should be located near Prague to handle necessary paperwork and physical processes, though remote work is supported.

Requirements:

• 5–10 years in accounting, finance, or controlling
• Deep knowledge of Czech accounting, payroll, VAT, and tax law
• Experience with multi-entity and international operations
• Fluent in Czech & English
• High attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently
• Responsible, well organized, good time management
• Friendly, curious, creative
• Don´t be a C-player​

Considered a plus:

• Ex–Big 4 or audit background
• Experience supporting company audits and reporting
• Familiarity with legal basics: employment contracts, NDAs, compliance workflows, stock options, trademarks, etc
• Comfort working directly with company founder on finance/legal planning
• Strategic insight into cost control, risk management, or long-term financial roadmap
• Experience working with banks or negotiating financing lines or credit
• Familiarity with preparing materials and financials for potential investors (decks, forecasts, due diligence support)
• Understanding of structuring investment deals 
• Knowledge of grant programs, R&D incentives, and public funding processes
• Ability to represent the company in formal settings (e.g., audit committees, financial negotiations)

Responsibilities:

Accounting & Payroll:

• Handle internal accounting: bookkeeping, invoicing, bank reconciliation
• Manage payroll for a mid-sized team consisting of Czech employees and international collaborators (~100 people)
• Oversee VAT filings, cross-border transactions, and monthly closings
• Prepare financial statements and support with audits and CIT filings

Finance & Reporting:

• Monitor weekly cashflow and oversee payment processing
• Maintain budgets and provide regular internal reports and dashboards
• Assist with financial audits and tax optimization planning

Compliance & Legal Support:

• Ensure proper documentation across multiple legal entities and currencies
• Coordinate with external legal advisors as needed
• Communicate directly with relevant institutions (e.g. tax authorities, auditors, banks) to manage filings, compliance, and external coordination

Internalization Objective:

• Build an internal finance function to replace current external vendors
• Personally take on core finance tasks
• Maintain cost-efficiency and hands-on ownership (no re-outsourcing)
