Director Spectrum Production (m/f/d)

Parsdorf, Bavaria, Germany

Mission Brief

Lead the global operational organisation to deliver rockets safely, to the required quality, on time and at the planned cost. Own execution across manufacturing, assembly, integration, engine testing and launch-pad AIT, building a consistent operating system and the capacity needed to increase production and launch cadence.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Global delivery: Own the integrated operational delivery plan across manufacturing and AIT. Align build, engine test, integration and launch-pad AIT schedules; manage handovers, dependencies and recovery actions across sites.
  • Manufacturing performance: Lead Munich manufacturing to deliver output, throughput, cost and schedule targets through capable teams, stable processes and disciplined execution.
  • Propulsion and Launch Vehicle AIT: Lead the Director of AIT in delivering both Propulsion AIT and Launch Vehicle AIT across the network. Secure capacity, trained teams, controlled procedures and complete records, ensuring propulsion systems and rockets meet agreed acceptance and readiness criteria.
  • HSE, quality and readiness: Lead Global HSE, embedding risk assessment, safe work, environmental controls, incident learning and emergency readiness. Site leaders own implementation. With Quality, close conformity and readiness gaps, respecting independent acceptance authority.
  • Global maintenance: Own the maintenance strategy, preventive and predictive programmes, critical spares and asset performance. Ensure competent teams and planned interventions sustain equipment availability, test capacity and safe operation across sites.
  • Capacity and scale: Deliver the operational capacity commitments agreed through enterprise planning and SIOP. Identify constraints in people, skills, equipment, facilities and test throughput; implement approved interventions and ramp-up plans.
  • Future launch pads: Lead operational mobilisation of new launch-pad AIT teams, including organisation, staffing, training, equipment, procedures and handover readiness. Coordinate with infrastructure, logistics and launch operations leaders.
  • Isar Production System: Develop and deploy the Isar Production System to drive operational excellence across Munich manufacturing and global AIT. Embed Lean daily management, standard work, visual performance, problem solving and improvement routines. Empower leaders to own performance and build capability, with maturity reviews and shared learning across sites.

Leadership and operating model

  • People and accountability: Develop directors, MD Sweden and global HSE/Maintenance leaders. Define regional and functional responsibilities, resource commitments and escalation routes; resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Operational governance: Run daily and weekly delivery reviews, manage cross-site escalations and provide forward-looking SIOP inputs. Report plan versus forecast, top constraints, readiness risks and decisions required; ensure actions are closed.
  • Resilience and logistics: Maintain operational recovery capability and tested site continuity plans within the enterprise framework. Coordinate engine and rocket movements with Logistics, ensuring transport, receipt and handover support the delivery plan.
  • Digital thread and AI: Improve connected operational information across MES, ERP, PLM and test systems. Apply AI and automation to analysis, reporting and workflows to improve departmental efficiency, with reliable data and accountable review.

Qualification Checklist

  • Operations leadership: Senior multi-site operations leadership in aerospace, space or complex manufacturing, with a record of delivering safety, quality, output, cost and schedule performance.
  • Manufacturing and AIT: Strong experience in manufacturing, assembly, integration and test, including complex hardware acceptance and operational readiness. Engine test or launch-site experience is desirable.
  • Industrialisation and scale: Proven ability to increase capacity and throughput, establish new teams or sites, and manage cross-site dependencies and operational recovery.
  • Leadership and improvement: Able to lead through senior managers, develop accountable teams and deploy Lean management with sustained results. Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience.
  • AI capability — required: Demonstrable practical use of AI and automation to improve departmental efficiency, supported by measurable outcomes. Able to lead adoption and strengthen digital operational visibility
