Senior Accountant – General Ledger (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

Role Purpose

• Senior General Ledger role with clear exposure to Group Accounting, IFRS and Local GAAP (HGB) as well as Tax
• Ensure IFRS- and HGB-compliant, audit-ready financial statements in a fast-growing international technology company
• Actively contribute to the development of ledger structures and accounting views in SAP S/4HANA, including IFRS, Local GAAP and tax perspectives

Your Role in Our Space Mission 

• Full responsibility for the General Ledger, including intercompany reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under IFRS and Local GAAP (HGB)
• Close collaboration with Group Accounting for consolidation and group reporting
• Responsibility for fixed asset accounting, including strong practical application of IFRS 16 (leases)
• Ensure IFRS- and HGB-compliant accounting and valuation in day-to-day operations
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the IFRS ledger, Local GAAP (HGB) ledger and a tax-relevant ledger view in SAP
• Preparation of accounting-based data for tax filings, including VAT, withholding tax (WHT) and construction withholding tax (§48 EStG), in close cooperation with in-house Group Tax
• Functional collaboration with external tax advisors and statutory auditors, including preparation of documentation and clarification of technical questions
• Close coordination with Operations and Controlling on project- and performance-related accounting matters
• Continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls and documentation with a focus on scalability and audit readiness

Qualification Checklist 

• Several years of experience as a Senior Accountant / General Ledger Accountant
• Strong hands-on IFRS expertise, in particular IFRS 16, and solid knowledge of Local GAAP (HGB)
• Experience working with Group Accounting, in-house tax functions and external auditors
• Solid SAP S/4HANA FI knowledge (GL, ledger logic)
• Structured, independent working style with high attention to quality
• Very good English skills; German is required
