About the Role

HSO India is looking for an experienced Senior Functional Consultant – D365 F&O Finance to join our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations practice.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance, experience in end-to-end implementations and/or managed services, and the ability to work closely with customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional activities across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) projects.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective D365 F&O Finance solutions.
• Conduct requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Configure and support D365 Finance modules, including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Cash & Bank Management
  • Fixed Assets
  • Budgeting
  • Tax and Financial Dimensions
  • Period and Year-End Closing
• Prepare functional specifications and work closely with technical teams for customizations and integrations.
• Lead functional workshops, requirement discussions, demos, and knowledge-transfer sessions with customers.
• Support data migration, integration, testing, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live activities.
• Analyze and resolve functional issues as part of implementation and/or managed services engagements.
• Provide production support and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
• Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams and coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
• Review deliverables and provide functional guidance to junior consultants.
• Contribute to solution documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7–10 years of overall experience with strong experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience in D365 F&O Finance functional consulting.
• Experience in at least 2–3 full-cycle D365 F&O implementations and/or significant managed services/support projects.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting business processes.
• Hands-on experience in D365 Finance configuration and functional setup.
• Strong knowledge of GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Budgeting, Tax, Financial Dimensions, and Period/Year-End Closing.
• Experience in requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, testing, and UAT.
• Ability to prepare functional specifications and work effectively with technical developers.
• Experience with integrations and data migration from a functional perspective.
• Good understanding of D365 F&O security, workflows, and business processes.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps / LCS or similar project and support tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance certification such as MB-300 / MB-310 or relevant Microsoft certification.
• Experience working with global customers and multi-country implementations.
• Experience in Managed Services / Application Support environments.
• Exposure to Power Platform, Power Automate, and other Microsoft technologies is an advantage.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
