As a D365 F&O Lead Functional Consultant, you can expect to…  

  • Lead functional workstreams within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations, with accountability for delivery outcomes, solution quality, and alignment to overall project objectives, owning defined solution areas while aligning to broader architectural direction 
  • Drive Business Process Analysis efforts for your domain, facilitating workshops, guiding discussions, and translating outcomes into structured functional designs 
  • Shape Fit/Gap decisions by evaluating business requirements against system capabilities, recommending solution approaches, and progressing decisions in the absence of complete information while identifying where architectural guidance is required 
  • Own and drive functional design decisions within your workstream, ensuring solutions are scalable, consistent, and aligned with overall project standards and long-term system behavior, ensuring solutions are scalable, consistent, and aligned with overall project standards and long-term system behavior 
  • Configure and oversee configuration across Finance modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank), ensuring accuracy and alignment to business requirements 
  • Translate complex business processes into clear functional designs and configuration strategies that can be executed by delivery teams 
  • Coordinate across workstreams to manage dependencies, ensuring functional decisions align with integrations, data flows, and downstream system impacts 
  • Drive alignment within and across workstreams by identifying dependencies and escalating broader design conflicts, helping HSO maintain consistency in end-to-end solution behavior 
  • Contribute to broader solution design discussions by providing functional input on process transformation, data structures, and system behavior 
  • Identify and proactively manage risks related to functional design, data integrity, and process alignment within your domain 
  • Guide testing strategy for your workstream, ensuring validation aligns with business requirements and supports end-to-end solution integrity 
  • Support data migration activities by ensuring functional accuracy in mapping, transformation logic, validation, and reconciliation 
  • Lead client-facing discussions within your domain, providing clear recommendations, guiding stakeholders toward decisions, and navigating complex conversations with confidence 
  • Review and provide guidance on deliverables produced by junior consultants, reinforcing quality, consistency, and alignment to standards while leveraging team members effectively 
  • Support estimation and solutioning for defined workstreams, aligning scope, complexity, and delivery approach 
  • Progressively take on broader solution ownership, expanding beyond initial workstream responsibilities while increasing independence in functional design decisions

Sound interesting? If so, you’ll have…  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field 
  • 5+ years of hands-on delivery experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) in complex implementation environments 
  • Deep functional experience across Finance modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash & Bank Management, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting 
  • Ownership of functional workstreams or defined solution areas within D365 F&O implementations, with accountability for delivery outcomes 
  • Strong understanding of core financial business processes, including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and translate business needs into structured functional designs 
  • Exposure to Fit/Gap analysis, configuration strategy, testing, and data migration across multiple phases of the project lifecycle 
  • Comfort operating within Microsoft partner or consulting delivery models, including structured methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration 
  • Confidence engaging in client-facing environments, contributing to solution discussions and guiding stakeholders toward decisions 
  • Working knowledge of the broader Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, integrations, and Azure-based services 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments 
  • Consistent ownership of work and follow-through on commitments within defined areas of responsibility 
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance certifications preferred 
  • Functional experience with the PMA (Project Management & Accounting) module preferred, but not required 
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements
