POSITION: Permanent, Full Time (flexible working hours and patterns considered)
12 months FTC Maternity Cover (If you're only interested in permanent Team Manager roles, please still register your interest and we can consider you for potential future roles)
LOCATION: Home based (must be UK based due to some occasional travel)
SALARY: £60,000 - £63,000 plus incentive plan and extensive benefits package

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Neurodevelopment Team Manager position requires an individual who is able to take on the dual aspects of leading, motivating, and managing staff working within the Healios Autism or ADHD Service whilst also ensuring clinical excellence with the delivery of consistent high-quality assessments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that staff within the team have high quality management, clinical supervision, and training, to ensure consistent high quality assessments for the children and adults, delivered on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Leadership
- Provide leadership to a team of clinicians delivering high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments (e.g., ADHD, Autism).
- Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, safe, and effective practice, maintaining compliance with governance, safeguarding, and risk management protocols alongside the Clinical Lead.
- Conduct regular supervision, reflective practice sessions, and clinical debriefs to promote professional development and ensure clinical excellence.
- Champion clinician wellbeing, engagement, and psychological safety within a remote-first and hybrid working environment.
Team & Performance Management
- Manage the onboarding of new clinicians, ensuring they are integrated effectively and operationally ready promptly
- Manage and support a team of clinicians delivering neurodevelopmental services (e.g., ASD, ADHD assessments/interventions).
- Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews (including Performance and Growth and Career Progression Framework reviews).
- Monitor and manage team and individual WIP, and caseloads; provide feedback and coaching where needed.
- Covering for caseload continuity in times when a team member maybe off sick, cor example,
- Hold clinicians accountable for their responsibilities, including managing underperformance and conducting difficult conversations.
- Identify training needs, skills gaps, and development opportunities in collaboration with Learning & Development (L&D) and Clinical Leads.
- Pro-active intervention - If the team manager notices that a clinician regularly overruns/underruns in client sessions, reviews the sessions and provides feedback and coaching.
Clinical & Service Quality
- Promote good clinical outcomes through clinical supervision and reflective practice.
- Monitor compliance with clinical governance, safeguarding protocols, and risk procedures.
- Liaise with the Governance and Safeguarding teams to address incidents or concerns.
Service Quality & Client Outcomes
- Ensure that all assessments and interventions delivered by the team meet internal and contractual requirements and quality standards.
- Encourage reflective practice and continuous improvement, ensuring learning is embedded across the team.
- Contribute to organisational learning by sharing feedback, insights, and emerging clinical trends with the Head of Assessment Services and Clinical Lead.
Collaboration & Escalation
- Collaborate with Governance, Risk, Safeguarding, People, L&D, and Clinical Leads to ensure clinicians are supported and risks are addressed appropriately.
- Work closely with the Service Operations Manager to ensure that operational and data trends are translated into clear, actionable guidance for your team.
- Work closely with the Service Operations Manager to ensure clinicians’ schedules align with service demands and holidays and training are planned accordingly
Liaison & Communication
- Act as the link between your team and:
- Clinical Leads
- Governance & Safeguarding
- People (HR) Team
- Learning & Development
- Client Operations
- Ensure timely escalation of issues and transparent communication across functions.
- Champion and enable change initiatives and advocate on behalf of the business

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
- Previous management experience is preferred
- Clinical qualification and registration in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy or Psychology (Educational, Counselling, Clinical or Forensic)
- Registered with a relevant statutory body as required per department (NMC, HCPC, ACP, BABCP, UKCP, SWE, SCW, SSSC or NISCC or BACP)
- Line management or supervisory experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments with relevant training in standardised assessments
- Experience (desireable) working within an independent healthcare provider
- Experience of delivering support / interventions to neurodiverse children and / or adults
- A real passion for supporting people to improve their lives
- A desire to become part of a collaborative environment and share knowledge and learning for the benefit of all

- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carer and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
