Junior Finance Analyst - Tech FP&A and FinOps
Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. To date we have worked with over a million merchant partners worldwide, connecting over 16 million customers with deals across various categories. In a world often dominated by e-commerce giants, we stand out as one of the few platforms uniquely committed to helping local businesses succeed on a performance basis.
Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.

🚀 Why this role exists
Groupon is in a phase of real transformation - not just tweaking slides, but rethinking how we invest, prioritize, and grow.
This is a new junior role created to support Tech FP&A and give you early exposure to how a global company thinks about effective allocation of its resources, investment priorities, and long-term value creation. You won’t just prepare reports - you’ll work close to the numbers and the people using them.
If you’re early in your finance career and want to grow beyond routine reporting, this role is a strong starting point.
💻 What you’ll do
You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager for Tech FP&A and support Engineering and Product teams.
Your focus will be on:
- Monthly variance analysis - SG&A reporting, cost drivers (people, software, cloud), and explaining what changed and why
- Cloud cost & FinOps support - tracking spend, spotting trends and anomalies, supporting optimization with Engineering
- Forecasting & planning - quarterly forecasts, annual planning, and headcount planning with HR
- KPIs & ad-hoc analysis - supporting performance tracking and real business questions
- Process improvements - helping make reporting and data work better over time
🌱 What “junior” means here
This is a junior role, but not a passive one.
You’ll start with clear tasks and support, but you’re expected to:
- think critically about numbers
- ask questions and learn fast
- gradually take ownership of your work
You don’t need FinOps or cloud expertise on day one. Curiosity, accuracy, and motivation matter more.
🙌 What we’re looking for
Must-have
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics
- 1-2 years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or Controlling
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with larger datasets
- High attention to detail and solid analytical thinking
- Fluent English (written & spoken)
Nice-to-have
- Exposure to Tech, Product, or Engineering teams
- Experience with cloud costs, BI tools
Why Groupon đź’š
Finance close to the business - Real collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership, supporting decision-making beyond pure reporting.
Early responsibility - Even in a junior role, you’ll get involved early, work closely with experienced leaders, and learn through hands-on work.
Cross-functional exposure - You’ll work with teams across the world, not just one office.
Real complexity, real learning - A fast-changing environment with high expectations that helps you build strong finance fundamentals - not just reporting skills.
