The position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accounting Manager Revenue to join our finance team in Oslo, London, Madrid, or Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will play a key role in establishing robust order-to-cash processes and managing the revenue accounting operations for our SaaS business unit, GelatoConnect. This role requires strong communication and coordination skills, a proactive mindset, and solid accounting expertise. The Senior Accounting Manager Revenue will drive automation and process improvements while overseeing the full revenue cycle, including revenue recognition, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Build strong communication channels with Finance, Sales, Operations, and the leadership team to ensure alignment across billing, revenue, and cash collection processes.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for revenue-related topics within GelatoConnect, ensuring clear, timely, and solution-oriented communication with internal teams and customers.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, FP&A, Operations) to assess contract terms, address financial implications, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Order-to-cash process optimization
    • Establish robust and scalable order-to-cash processes for the GelatoConnect business.
    • Drive automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability while reducing manual work.
    • Implement a proactive and structured cash collection process, ensuring timely follow-up and strong customer communication to minimize overdue balances.
  • Revenue recognition and compliance:
    • Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in line with relevant accounting standards for GelatoConnect. 
    • Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure correct revenue treatment.
    • Provide variance analysis on revenue and deferred revenue accounts.
    • Support external audits related to revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information provided.
    • Maintain compliance with corporate governance controls and contribute to continuous improvement of revenue policies and processes.
  • Billing
    • Ensure invoices are generated and sent to customers in a timely and accurate manner. 
    • Verify that billing aligns with customer contracts and pricing agreements.
    • Proactively manage overdue payments and develop strategies for efficient recovery.
    • Communicate directly with customers to resolve billing inquiries and disputes quickly and effectively.
    • Handle customer inquiries and disputes related to billing, working to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Process Improvement and systems implementation
    • Identify and execute opportunities to streamline revenue accounting and billing workflows.
    • Lead initiatives to automate revenue recognition and billing processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Tax and VAT compliance:
    • Ensure revenue orders are compliant with indirect tax regulation (VAT/GST/Sales tax) in each jurisdiction. 

Who you are

You are an experienced accounting manager with solid expertise in revenue and billing operations, ideally within a SaaS or subscription-based business. You bring structure and clarity to financial processes and take pride in building scalable order-to-cash processes that support growth and operational excellence.

You focus on automation and efficiency, seeking ways to reduce manual work, improve data quality, and streamline operations through better systems and processes. With a practical, hands-on mindset, you ensure that revenue, billing, and cash collection are consistent, accurate, and well controlled.

You are proactive, analytical, and collaborative, working closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and the leadership team to align revenue and cash collection processes with business objectives. Adaptable and detail-oriented, you thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to building an efficient, forward-looking revenue function.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent), or an experienced professional with deep expertise in revenue accounting processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles and standards, with practical experience in applying them to SaaS or subscription-based business models. 
  • Proven ability to guide others, share knowledge, and work collaboratively to find effective solutions across Finance, Sales and Operations teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Experience using NetSuite ERP or similar financial systems is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and technologies (such as Gemini, Cursor, Python, or similar) is a strong advantage, particularly for driving automation and process efficiency.
