ML Ops / Data Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Mission

As a Data Engineer at Sealenic, you’ll play a vital role in transforming decision-making for both on-shore and off-shore teams in the shipping industry. The systems you’ll help design and build will have a direct impact on the frontline of the maritime sector, which facilitates over 90% of global trade. You’ll work closely with product and technical teams to develop and maintain the data infrastructure behind our cutting-edge SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll not only drive the development of robust data pipelines, but also influence the data architecture that powers our innovative products.

 

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Engineer to join our team full-time to develop the data platform that will revolutionize decision-making in the shipping industry. The role offers exciting opportunities to work with large-scale data, Generative AI technologies, and dynamic data environments.

 

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to support our core product and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with the CTO and a small, experienced team to align data infrastructure with business goals.
• Optimize and manage our database systems, focusing on performance, scalability, and availability.
• Work with diverse datasets to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Help develop the architecture and best practices for data engineering across the company, as the company grows
• Integrate external APIs and data sources into our platform.
• Troubleshoot and debug data-related issues in production environments.

Skills

• Proven track record with significant hands-on experience in data engineering roles, preferably as a Senior Data Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and Serverless technologies.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including vector databases.
• Experience in designing and optimizing data pipelines for high performance and scalability.
• Prior experience with LLMs or Generative AI technologies would be a significant plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
