About the role:
BoardIQ, a Financial Times Specialist publication for mutual fund directors, is seeking a data researcher/analyst who will be responsible for building and maintaining databases that the publication will use to build out stories.
The data researcher/analyst is a highly organized and efficient information-seeker. They will own their databases and be responsible for keeping them up to date through regulatory filings, public documents and, in some cases, presenting directly with companies/sources. One key project will be keeping our mutual fund director database up to date.
The successful applicant will communicate regularly with BoardIQ editors and liaise with relevant companies to fact-check and seek information not broadly available.
The researcher/analyst will also take responsibility for the timeliness and accuracy of the data.
Responsibilities:
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and have strong data literacy skills.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills.
- Exhibits excellent and professional telephone and email etiquette.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills needed to manage time effectively, schedule calls, input data and meet deadlines.
- Stays on top of developments related to the database(s) subject(s) and is on the lookout for updates.
- Accurately analyzes large amounts of data and identifies relevant material whether collecting information by phone or sifting regulatory filings and reports.
- Proficient level of computer skills.
- Must possess basic knowledge of financial terms, such as technical terms and basics of how investments work.
