The Customer Growth Domain is expanding and undergoing an ambitious Transformation. We are pivoting from local smaller teams to a global organization. This will enable us to deliver the technological (APIsation of the IS, Scaling an Event Driven Architecture, Micro-Services, Headless,...) and organizational (Agility at scale, High performing Teams and pivot from feature to product teams) transformation and help us achieve our objectives.

Customer Growth provides best-in-class seamless customer identification and connection to the Decathlon ecosystem. We are responsible for developing customer 360 knowledge and lead the business through personalized lifecycle activation & management.

Our vision is to: “Drive customer growth and retention at scale through seamless and personalized relationships, across the whole Decathlon sports and commerce ecosystem”. To help us transform and build engineering excellence we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team in designing interfaces, reusable components, help our engineers grow/thrive, at scale, securely, robustly, data driven, at required pace and compliant to our high standards.

We operate in 75+ countries and are responsible for 200M+ individual accounts, 30K created each day, 250K login connections, 2.5B Email, 45M push messages and over 80M online visits.

YOUR FUTURE CONTRIBUTION 

Your Responsibilities

As a member of the Sport team, you will be responsible for designing, building and shipping software. Right from prototyping and designing functional code to coding and testing, you take ownership of the software until it is handed over to the client (internal or external). Our aim is to enable features to be created on a larger scale, faster and with a higher quality than any other company in the sector. You will be part of a team and contribute to deliver on objectives.

  • Applying software engineering principles to analyze and design a solution
  • Developing and executing project plans
  • Creating technical specifications
  • Designing and developing test cases
  • Adopting Agile methodologies to develop software
  • Analyzing existing systems to provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensuring proper documentation
  • Monitoring system performance and performing predictive maintenance
  • Performing system risk and reliability analysis
  • Assessing new technologies before adoption and implementation

What You Need to be Successful

  • 5/7 years' experience as a developer
  • Java (with strong knowledge on Spring/Spring Boot framework)
  • Good command of software development best practices (microservices architecture, design patterns, testable code, BDD or TDD).
  • Experience building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, JSON, RPC, etc.
  • You have significant work experience in an agile/devops development environment.
  • Containers, docker / docker compose, and all related topics

Nice to have:

  • Kafka ecosystem (KConnect, Debezium..)
  • Metrics (datadog or dynatrace or prometheus & co), you need to be aware and believe in the needs of measuring)
  • Kubernetes (as a dev) knowledge and experiences
  • PostgreSQL
  • Experience with automation technologies such as github actions
  • Some security feeling OWASP top 10, Spring Reactive (webflux)
  • Bonus: you will be trained as a security champion inside our business unit
