Sales Development Representative

In this role, you will sit at the front line of our sales motion. You engage prospective customers, qualify opportunities, and generate high-quality pipeline for the Business Development team. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys talking to customers, learns quickly, takes pride in strong execution and data accuracy, and wants to build a long-term career in sales 

It is a critical pipeline generating role with a clear pathway into roles such as Business Development Manager or Account Executive 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research target accounts and contacts to understand business context, FX/payment needs, and ICP fit
  • Execute inbound and outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn using structured cadences
  • Collect and log first-party data (e.g., FX volume, payment corridors, current provider)
  • Conduct focused discovery to qualify interest, urgency, and suitability against defined criteria
  • Book qualified meetings and deliver clear, well-documented handoffs to Account Executives
  • Maintain accurate, timely CRM records (Salesforce), including activity logging, lead status, and enrichment
  • Use sales outreach and enrichment tools to support consistent, high‐quality outreach
  • Capture and log customer insights (pain points, objections, competitor mentions) to sharpen outreach and qualification effectiveness 

Critical Skills and Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in B2B sales, SDR/BDR, or customer-facing commercial roles
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to manage leads, activities, and qualification
  • Exposure to multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn) and structured sales cadences, with comfort using sales outreach and enrichment tools
  • Experience in financial services, payments, FX, or technology is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence in live customer conversations and able to craft clear, compelling outreach messages
  • A resilient, motivated, and tenacious mindset with a competitive drive to hit targets

Pay Transparency Statement

Convera is committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable U.S. state and local laws. For this position, the expected base salary range is [$50,000 - $63,000] per year, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. We use a tiered geographic pay system to ensure fairness across regions. Candidates in high-cost areas may receive higher offers within the posted range.
