Sr. Account Representative (Mandarin Speaking)

In this role you will work with a portfolio of corporate customers on their foreign exchange and payments requirements to achieve set business goals. You will actively engage with them to bring Convera’s services to bear on their business needs. 

Responsibilities 

  • Delivering an excellent client experience to a portfolio of approximately 60 to 80 Corporate Canadian customers.
  • Managing and transacting a wide range of FX deals across our broad product range, you’ll be tasked with retaining clients as well as maximizing opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Able to draw on advice and expertise from across the business you’ll be responsible for making excellent business decisions and rewarded accordingly through a generous and transparent bonus scheme.
  • Achieving and surpassing your targets you’ll need to be proactive, regularly contacting and meeting up with customers and being aware of their specific requirements and how we might be able to serve them best. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Experience in Foreign Exchange Sales or Dealing is required to be considered for the role
  • Proven ability to build and grow customer relationships
  • Comfortable on the phone with corporate customers
  • Pro-active in finding new relationships and opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
  • Canadian Citizen / Permanent Resident
  • Bilingual: English / Mandarin 

Preferred Qualifications  

Below are nice-to-have qualifications, but not required: 

  • Minimum of 36 months’ experience dealing hedging solutions (forward and option) to corporate or SME customers.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of FX option structures and hedging strategies
  • Ability to structure FX option hedging solutions
  • Technical & fundamental understanding of broad financial markets
  • Ability to disseminate technical and fundamental knowledge into a saleable form
  • Some sales experience, either business development or upsell to existing clients, preferred
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to ask probing questions to understand needs of customer and solution sell FX risk management strategies
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong desire to succeed and motivate self and the team
  • Ability to deal effectively with all types of people, build and maintain supportive relationships with key business contacts
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Solid IT skills with ability to use MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Reuters & Bloomberg.
  • MBA and/or CFA designation (or working towards) would be an asset
