
Privacy Operations Manager
The Privacy Operations Manager is part of the Privacy Office in the Convera’s corporate legal affairs team and is responsible for managing key operational components of the Global Privacy Program, to support Convera in managing privacy risks and confirming its compliance with global privacy laws. As such, the Privacy Operations Manager will work closely together with the CyberSec, Risk and Compliance, Product &Technology, and Operations teams, and be in touch with local Management. Similarly, for regulatory interpretations, the Privacy Operations Manager interacts with the Global Legal team frequently.
The Privacy Operations Manager reports to Convera’s Privacy Director [Data Protection Officer].
Objectives and Tasks
The Privacy Operations Manager ensures that the key components of Convera’s Privacy Framework are defined, operational and effective.
Key tasks that support achieving this objective include:
- Manage the day-to-day aspects of global privacy operations, including updating records of processing activities, leading privacy assessments, processing data subjects requests and managing privacy incidents;
- Lead the data privacy risk-based monitoring and testing program to assess current processes, propose necessary corrective actions and follow their successful implementation;
- Contribute to defining privacy operating procedures and support the overall privacy awareness;
- Assist with the coordination and monitoring of the effective implementation of the Information Retention Schedules;
- Prepare indicators and metrics to support the continuous assessment of the Privacy Program Framework and privacy reporting to Board Committees.
The Privacy Operations Manager will also contribute to the work of Convera’s corporate legal affairs department in any other way reasonable expected, including participating in projects and working groups and assisting with other priorities in the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with minimum 3 years’ experience in privacy program management or privacy operations, preferably in a financial technology environment;
- Good understanding and knowledge of global privacy-related regulatory requirements (EU GDPR, UK data protection regulations, US states privacy laws and GLBA) supported by privacy certification (CIPP or CIPM);
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable requirements and practical operational measures;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, comfortable to perform tasks independently in a fast moving environment;
- Team player who can adapt to shifting priorities and adheres to deadlines.
