Product Design - DriveScore
Product Designer
We're looking for a Product Designer to join DriveScore, a fast-growing scale-up business within the ClearScore Group. DriveScore’s mission is to disrupt the car insurance market by making it more transparent, accessible, and user-centric than ever before. Leveraging cutting-edge telematics technology and data analytics, DriveScore provides users with personalised car insurance offers and insights, helping people make informed decisions about their car insurance needs.
DriveScore is searching for a product designer who is enthusiastic about user-centred design, has great attention to detail and who thrives working in a fast-paced team. Working alongside the Design Lead and Snr Designer and within a multi-disciplinary squad, you’ll work across all aspects of the design process from research and ideation through to high fidelity designs.
Our Design team is passionate about understanding real-life user problems and tackling complex problems. We are empathetic to our customers and to each other, and we recognise that there is always more to learn. You’ll enjoy working with a highly motivated and engaged team collaborating with PMs, engineers, marketing and commercial functions. While we value independent thinking, we aren’t a place for lone wolves. We work collaboratively at every step, and you’ll be driving that.
What you will be doing:
- Working as a design squad captain in one of our teams, contributing to all aspects of design, from discovery to delivery, including hands-on UX, UI, and Content design.
- Play a key role in leading the design direction for your squad, collaborating and pairing with product managers and engineers.
- Run research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, and competitor analysis.
- Working with your squad to understand the underlying system, constraints, and technical requirements.
- Design for growth experiments with speed and adopt a mindset of “fail and fix fast”.
- Actively participate in, facilitate and/or lead ideation workshops with design peers, engineers, product people, and stakeholders.
- Create the right assets and outputs (sketches, wireframes, prototypes, user flows, etc) and provide the right storytelling to communicate your ideas.
- Respond to research, data, and user reviews, fine-tuning your solutions as you learn.
- Work within, and contribute to, the design system, enhancing and expanding it as appropriate.
- Be hands on in Figma, from wire-framing to detailed UI polish, choosing the appropriate fidelity as you need.
- Contribute to the design team by providing feedback in critiques and sharing your skills.
- Establish and refine your squad’s ways of working to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and sustainable working culture within your squad.
Skills we'd love you to have
- The ability to design appropriately for Android, iOS and web (mobile and desktop)
- Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and component creation
- Experience working in a start-up culture - ship, measure, learn
- Comfortable taking ownership of design within your squad.
- Experience collaborating with product managers and engineers.
- Comfortable presenting work to stakeholders at all levels
- Experience working with and contributing to a design system
- Strong UI, UX and visual skills
- Comfortable working on end to end features
- Knowledge of accessibility
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
