About The Role šŸ’» 

We are looking for a Data Research Lead Specialist, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, strategic alignment, and seamless collaboration across data operations research, and product teams. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, facilitating communication, managing key initiatives, and driving the execution of the companyā€™s sustainability and data-driven goals. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership and department head
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies to streamline processes. Lead initiatives to optimize data collection practices and research methodologies to ensure high-quality, impactful outputs
  • Assist and communicate with senior management in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Review, design, and execute improvements to organizational structure; find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
  • Ensure that data research  initiatives align with, product roadmaps, and customer needs
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively across the data teams
  • Address and resolve bottlenecks and roadblocks that impede the success of data research and strategy initiatives
  • Perform ad hoc team projects as needed 

What Youā€™ll Need šŸ‘€

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in roles related to data strategy, data operations, or data  management, preferably within a data vendor or a sustainability-related company.  Proficient in  ESG, corporate governance, and/or financial markets. 
  • 3+ years in leadership or management roles, ideally in a cross-functional capacity, coordinating across departments like technology, research, product, and strategy.
  • Understanding of global sustainability regulations, sustainability metrics, frameworks, and sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, SASB) 
  • Proven experience in managing complex, multi-team projectsā€”especially related to data integration, research, or strategy.
  • Strong organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements and priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with clear attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and strategic insights to executive leadership, and external partners.
  •  Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous situations and drive data-informed decisions while balancing the need for immediate results with long-term sustainability goals.
  • Strong experience with agile project management, or familiarity with tools like Jira, and Confluence to
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or other data analytics tools and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Other languages are a plus 
  • At least a Bachelorā€™s degree -  Finance, Economics, business management, Accounting, Environmental Studies or similar field of study. (maybe MBA or sustainability-related Masters here too)
  • CFA , CFA ESG or other comparable certifications  a plus
  • Highly motivated, independent and deeply passionate about sustainability, impact and finance.
