This role is responsible for driving new logo acquisition, expanding market share, and helping organizations amplify their brand stories through industry-leading press release distribution and communications solutions.
As an Outbound New Business Account Executive, you will prospect into small and mid-sized organizations, uncover communication and visibility challenges, and position PR Newswire solutions that align with each customer’s business goals. This is a high-activity, strategic outbound sales role focused on generating pipeline, creating demand, and winning competitive business through consultative selling and persistence.

What you'll do
- Drive profitable revenue growth through acquisition of new business and competitive account displacement.
- Drive PRN New Business into existing software only customer white space
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets and KPI expectations.
- Prospect daily through outbound cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn engagement, networking, referrals, and company-generated campaigns.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline through effective territory planning and prospecting strategies.
- Identify customer pain points, communication goals, and media visibility needs to position the appropriate PR Newswire solutions.
- Conduct meetings, discovery calls, and product demos with prospective customers.
- Differentiate PR Newswire’s value proposition against competitors through strategic, consultative conversations.
- Demonstrate strong objection-handling, negotiation, and closing skills throughout the sales cycle.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, pipeline management, forecasting, and activity documentation within Salesforce.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor positioning, media landscape changes, and emerging communications strategies.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture by sharing ideas, prospecting strategies, market insights, and best practices.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and ownership in a dynamic sales environment.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–5 years of successful B2B sales experience with a proven track record of prospecting, pipeline generation, and quota attainment.
- Experience in outbound new business sales, media, SaaS, marketing technology, communications, or related industries preferred.
- Strong cold calling, prospecting, and networking skills with the ability to create opportunities from scratch.
- Ability to maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently engage executives and decision-makers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Self-motivated, competitive, and results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to change, and problem-solving in a fast-moving sales environment.
- Experience collaborating across teams to drive customer outcomes and close business effectively.
- Commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, coaching, and skill development.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other modern sales engagement tools necessary.
- Extensive Industry knowledge of PR, communications, marketing, or media landscape.
