Job Summary: This role is responsible for leading a team of analyst-level professionals and overseeing the day-to-day execution of data management, data governance, and data operations activities. The Data Operations - Team Lead will partner closely with the manager and cross-functional stakeholders to improve data quality, strengthen governance practices, streamline operational processes, and enable reliable reporting and business decision-making. This position requires a strong blend of people leadership, operational discipline, and hands-on technical capability, including experience with Databricks, Salesforce, and SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of analyst-level employees, setting clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations.
- Own and oversee core data operations processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent execution across systems and workflows.
- Establish and strengthen data governance practices, including data definitions, standards, quality controls, stewardship, and issue resolution.
- Partner with business, operations, and technical teams to identify data gaps, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve data integrity and usability.
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable data processes, controls, and documentation.
- Monitor data quality and operational performance through metrics, reporting, and ongoing root cause analysis.
- Work hands-on with data platforms and systems, including Databricks, Salesforce, and SQL-based environments, to support analysis, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Translate business requirements into operational data needs and collaborate with technical partners to implement sustainable solutions.
- Ensure data is managed in alignment with governance, privacy, compliance, and security requirements.
- Create and maintain clear operating procedures, process documentation, and governance artifacts to support consistency and scalability.
- Act as an escalation point for data issues and help drive resolution across teams and systems.
- Support change management and adoption of new tools, processes, and governance standards across the team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data operations, data management, data governance, business operations, or a related field.
- Experience leading or mentoring analyst-level team members, with demonstrated people leadership and coaching capability.
- Strong understanding of data management and data governance principles, including data quality, stewardship, controls, documentation, and standardization.
- Hands-on technical experience working with Databricks, Salesforce, and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and drive practical solutions.
- Experience working across business and technical teams to translate requirements into operational improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and process discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, CRM processes, or operational reporting environments.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, process automation, workflow optimization, or data architecture concepts.
- Experience building governance routines, quality frameworks, or data operating models.
- Knowledge of reporting tools, dashboards, and KPI development.
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment with operations, IT, finance, or go-to-market teams.
- Comfort operating as both a strategic thinker and a hands-on problem solver.
