Job Summary: The position is responsible for managing and developing high-performing technical teams within the Engineering and Technology function. It provides strategic and operational leadership across a range of engineering disciplines to ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering teams across diverse technical areas, ensuring delivery of solutions that meet business, technical, and security requirements.
  • Translate organizational goals into actionable engineering plans and roadmaps, aligning team priorities with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product and platform strategies, influence technical direction, and support prioritization.
  • Drive adoption of scalable architectures, development standards, automation, and operational excellence practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage team performance, coaching, and development to support engagement and career growth.
  • Monitor key engineering metrics (e.g., velocity, quality, system health) to guide continuous improvement and inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to technical planning, budgeting, workforce design, and capacity forecasting.
  • Advocate for team needs while balancing delivery expectations, stakeholder alignment, and resource constraints.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support business needs.

Job Level Specifications

  • Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.
  • Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices. Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies.
  • Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function.
  • Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities.
  • Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients.
  • Decisions are likely to have a serious impact on the overall success or failure of a function. Erroneous decisions or recommendations result in critical delays or modifications to company objectives and cause long-term harm to business operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • First-level and/or advanced university degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in related role or experience including 5+ years in management.
  • Experience managing engineering teams with responsibility for delivering strategic technical outcomes.
  • Background in software, infrastructure, data, security, or related engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to align team execution with organizational vision and technical roadmaps.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Actual experience may vary depending on role complexity, geography, and internal development opportunities or a comparable mix of training, education, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to or leading strategic planning, transformation initiatives, or organizational scaling efforts.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, Agile delivery, DevOps, or site reliability practices.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary and/or globally distributed teams.
  • Understanding of business metrics, risk management, and regulatory considerations in technical environments.
