About This Role:
As BVNK continues to embark on expanding operations in Spain, we’re looking for a Managing Director based in Spain to drive the growth of our Spanish entity. You will play a pivotal role in operationalizing our new CASP license and scaling our operations, building and maintaining a solid relationship with the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) and advising other parts of the business on strategic initiatives that will include the Spanish CASP. Your strategic leadership will shape the foundation of our success in the region, helping BVNK bring its innovative payment solutions to businesses across Spain and beyond.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Regulatory Development: Finalise the license application for a CASP license in Spain and operationalize and lead the regulated entity.
- Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with global teams to build out the business infrastructure needed for scalable operations, including compliance, legal, banking, and technology frameworks.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and nurture relationships with local regulators, financial institutions, and industry leaders to position BVNK as a trusted player in the regional market.
- Operational Leadership: Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with BVNK’s global strategy while adapting to local market conditions.
- Leadership: Lead and grow the Spanish team, establishing a high-performing culture that aligns with BVNK’s values and global standards.
- Strategic Planning: Work with senior leadership to define the long-term vision for BVNK in the region and develop strategic initiatives to achieve growth targets.
- Innovation: Drive product and service innovation in response to the needs of local businesses and adapt BVNK’s solutions to meet emerging market demands.
- Business Development: Lead commercial efforts to acquire key customers, develop partnerships, and drive revenue growth across Spain.
What We Need from You:
- Leadership Experience: 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles, with a proven track record of scaling businesses, preferably in fintech, crypto, or financial services.
- Regulatory Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in Spain including financial services and cryptocurrency regulations.
- Operational Expertise: Experience in building operational infrastructure and managing cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, finance, and technology.
- Strategic Vision: A strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term goals with short-term execution in a fast-paced, evolving market.
- Commercial Expertise: Deep experience in business development, sales, and partnership management, with a strong ability to generate revenue and lead high-impact deals.
- Excellent Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex business dynamics.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, working autonomously to build BVNK’s presence and reputation in the market.
- Degree-Level Education: A relevant degree and/or professional qualifications in business, finance, or a related field.
