Your Mission:
Join Bitpanda as an Anti-Financial Crime Compliance Intern and become an integral part of our efforts to ensure a secure and transparent financial ecosystem. In this role, you will support our AFC Compliance Investigations team in safeguarding the integrity of our operations by preventing and detecting financial crime. Your contributions will be key in fostering trust with financial institutions, fintechs, and crypto asset providers, while helping to uphold the highest standards of compliance in a rapidly evolving industry.
What you’ll do:
- Support the review and verification of source of funds, assisting in analyzing financial documents, identifying red flags, and documenting findings.
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing transactions to identify unusual or suspicious activities. Gain hands-on experience with AML/CFT processes, contributing to the detection and mitigation of financial crime risks.
- Assist in conducting client screenings against PEP and sanctions lists. Learn to identify individuals or entities requiring enhanced due diligence (EDD) and support in documenting actions taken for positive matches.
- Assist in extracting data using SQL and support the preparation of clear and concise reports and slides highlighting key data points, trends, and insights for the compliance team and senior management.
- Assist in performing quality control checks to ensure compliance, document findings, and identify areas for improvement.
Who you are:
- Strong interest in the financial services industry and currently enrolled in a university program in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with a strong preference for those with a legal background.
- Good command of written and oral English and German, with strong communication and presentation skills. Native German speakers are particularly advantageous.
- High degree of intrinsic motivation, curiosity, and a commitment to learning.
- Practical experience with data tools like Excel, Tableau, and Snowflake. Experience with SQL and/or Python is a plus.
- Proactive approach to managing tasks, coupled with a desire to enhance prioritization and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
