Your mission:

The City Lead is the general manager of Berlin, with complete ownership of everything in the city: members, coaches, team, and the city's commercial success. You run Berlin end to end and treat it as if it were your own company.

At the heart of it all are people. Coaches are our product and our biggest lever: happy, thriving coaches deliver the best workouts, members feel it, stay, and bring their friends, and the city grows. Your job is to create a city where coaches, team and members all thrive.

 

What you will own: 

• A thriving coach community. Berlin attracts, develops and retains the best coaches in the market. You know them, celebrate them, invest in them and hold them to high standards, working through your Fitness Managers. When coaches need you, everything else can wait.
• Your team. Studio Managers, Fitness Managers and Front of House. You hire for hospitality and mindset first, develop your people into leaders who own their studios and verticals, and build a culture where the team brings solutions, not problems.
• The member experience. Hospitality standards, community, and studio experience. Clean and functional is table stakes; you aim for the experience people rave about and tell their friends over.
• The city's success. Berlin's growth and profitability are yours. You know your city inside out, spot what's changing before the numbers do, and act on it.
• Direction, not doing. You set the focus, prioritize and let your team execute. When you go deep on a topic or a person, you announce it and time-box it.
• The full power of BEAT81 behind Berlin. You bring marketing, product, tech and finance to bear for your city with clear, well-founded asks, and you share what works with the other cities.

 

Who you are :

• 6+ years leading multi-site, people-heavy operations in hospitality, fitness, retail or similar, including commercial ownership.
• A general manager at heart: you have led people, built teams and owned outcomes, not just run a function.
• A people-first leader with high standards: warm with your team and coaches, direct in your feedback, uncompromising on hospitality.
• Comfortable with numbers: you understand your city's performance and turn insight into action.
• You know Berlin: the neighbourhoods, the communities, ideally the fitness and coaching scene.
• Fluent in German and English.
• You work out. You know what a great coach and a great class feel like, and you care.

 

What success looks like: 

• Berlin's coaches are the happiest and best in the market, and they stay.
• Your Studio and Fitness Managers run their studios and verticals autonomously and bring you solutions.
• Members feel the difference: a city full of studios people rave about.
• Berlin grows profitably, and you can explain every result and what you'll do next.
