Fitness Manager - Expansion (m/f/d)

BEAT81 is scaling. Over the next 24 months we're opening studios in new German cities, and we need someone to plant the flag on the ground.

This role has two parts. The first is your steady-state job: supporting platform operations and coach sourcing in your home city. The second is project-based: you move to a new city for 3 to 6 months at a time, help source and introduce the first generation of coaches to the BEAT81 community there, personally coach classes during the launch period, hire the local Fitness Manager who will take over from you, and then come home to your base city until the next launch begins.

This is not a steady-state coaching role. This is a builder role. 

What you’ll do

• When we launch a new city, you will opt in to lead the fitness build on the ground for 3 to 6 months.
• Map the local coach talent landscape before relocation (PTs, boutique studios, university sports programmes, competitor gyms)
• Support coach sourcing for the new city; identifying experienced fitness professionals interested in offering sessions on the BEAT81 platform
• Personally coach classes during the launch period to support class availability and build relationships within the local fitness community
• Confirm that studio equipment, sound, and lighting are available and functional ahead of launch
• Hire and introduce the local Fitness Manager(s) who will take over after you leave
• Build local relationships with the broader fitness community
• Serve as a point of contact for freelance coaches with questions about studio availability, equipment and studio logistics
• Capture lessons learned from each launch in a playbook
• If we are launching several cities at the same time, the job might require you to travel frequently between cities.
• Between launches, you'll support platform operations in our existing markets based on demand:
• Source and introduce coaches to the BEAT81 platform and community, with a focus on experienced professionals who deliver high-quality group fitness sessions
• Analyse class and platform data to identify trends and support strategic decisions about format availability and studio operations
• Work with product and tech teams to develop and improve platform tools, studio equipment and features
• Share relevant platform, studio and equipment updates with coaches and invite feedback where appropriate
• Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh ideas to enhance our market positioning

What we’re looking for

• Based in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf or Cologne
• 2+ years of structured group fitness coaching at a high standard 
• CIRCUIT / HIIT is a must-have
• RIDE / indoor cycling is a nice-to-have (willingness to get onboarded is a must-have)
• Experience in group fitness leadership and working alongside other fitness professionals
• Builder mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, ready to start from zero in a city that has no BEAT81 presence yet
• Genuinely willing to relocate for 3 to 6 month launch windows, repeatedly.
• Fluent in English. At least B2 German.

You will live in a different German city for 3 to 6 months at a stretch, then return to your home base. If the idea of being a builder in a new city excites you, this role will give you something most coaching jobs can't. If it sounds disruptive to your life, this probably isn't the right fit, and that's okay.
