We are looking for a People Operations Working Student to join our People & Culture Team!
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in People Operations while actively contributing to smooth, compliant, and well-structured HR processes. You’ll work closely with our People & Culture Manager, support the day-to-day operations of the employee lifecycle, and take real ownership of defined People Ops processes — with room to learn, grow, and make an impact from day one.
You will:
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including contracts, documentation, and HRIS data updates, to ensure smooth employee transitions
- Maintain accurate and complete employee records, managing both digital files and physical personnel folders (Ablage)
- Manage People Operations inquiries, drafting clear, accurate responses and ensuring timely, reliable communication with employees and managers
- Prepare and process contract amendments, tracking changes, deadlines, and required signatures
- Handle sick leave and absence administration, including requesting documentation, monitoring long-term absences, and updating dashboards and records
- Maintain ESOP documentation and records, ensuring information is up to date and correctly stored
- Configure and maintain HRIS settings, including attributes, rules, and workflows, to support efficient People Operations processes
- Run the onboarding buddy program, ensuring new hires are paired effectively and the process operates smoothly
- Create and maintain People Operations documentation, including contracts, amendments, and other core HR documents, to ensure consistency and accuracy
You have:
- Precise attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy, especially when working with contracts, employee data, and sensitive information
- Ongoing enrollment at a university, ideally in HR, business administration, psychology, or a related field
- Availability to work 20 hours per week
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
- A genuine interest in People Operations / HR administration and motivation to learn the fundamentals of HR work
- A structured and reliable working style, with the ability to keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines
- Confidence working with data, documents, and digital systems
- Proactive communication skills and mindset - comfortable introducing yourself, reaching out, following up, closing loops, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
Nice to have:
- Basic understanding of German labor law and HR compliance requirements
- First experience in HR, People Operations, or administration, including working with checklists and process improvementsExperience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Leapsome, Personio) and project management tools like Asana
