Position overview
As a People Partner based in Barcelona, you will serve as the primary People point of contact in Spain and partner closely with the People & Culture Lead to ensure global priorities, policies, and standards are implemented with consistency and compliance.
The role oversees day-to-day People operations in Barcelona, including documentation standards, lifecycle execution, and regulatory adherence. Working closely with managers and teams, you will gather local insights and surface risks as needed.
We are seeking an experienced People Partner with strong judgment, discretion, autonomy, and execution capability. While not responsible for defining global People strategy, the role is accountable for effective local implementation and for surfacing risks and cultural signals early and clearly.
Your Mission
- Local People Foundations & Compliance: Ensure People policies, documentation, and processes in Spain are accurate, current, and compliant with local labor requirements and company standards. Partner with Operations to maintain documentation discipline and compliance readiness. Advise managers and employees on policy application, escalating complex matters to the People & Culture Lead.
- Regional People Partnering & Employee Lifecycle Support: Coordinate and execute key lifecycle processes in partnership with the People & Culture Lead, including onboarding, performance cycles, compensation reviews, promotions, internal mobility, contractor transitions, and exits. Manage performance cycle timelines and documentation across regions. Conduct onboarding and development conversations and document outcomes.
- Culture & Engagement Execution: Own and drive local cultural and in-office engagement initiatives that reinforce company values, collaboration, and team cohesion. Partner with Operations for logistical execution and budget coordination. Monitor engagement trends and surface relevant themes.
- Organizational Signal & Risk Detection: Gather and synthesize employee and manager feedback into concise insights. Identify recurring challenges and raise them with appropriate context. Handle sensitive matters with discretion and maintain continuity of People processes across geographies.
Key Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in HR, People Partner, or HRBP roles within Spain.
- Strong understanding of Spanish labor requirements and practical experience supporting employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience working across core People areas, including performance support, documentation, and employee relations guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to execute People initiatives with structure and follow-through.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive matters with care.
- Comfort operating in a startup or evolving environment.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.

Work model & location expectations:
- Work Model: Hybrid
- Primary Location: Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain
- On-Site Expectations: This role is expected to maintain a strong in-office presence (preferably 3 days per week, with flexibility). Given the cultural and employee experience focus of the position, physical presence in the office is an important part of the role.
