Cargo Executive Underwriter
Your Role
Reporting to the Cargo Class Leader, you will play a key role in the continued success of Apollo's Cargo portfolio, combining technical underwriting expertise with broker engagement, portfolio development and business strategy.
This is an opportunity to join one of the London Market's most entrepreneurial and innovative underwriting businesses. Working alongside the Cargo Class Leader, you will help shape the future direction of the portfolio through new products, technology-enabled distribution, international growth initiatives and strong broker partnerships.

What you’ll do
Working closely with the Cargo Class Leader, you will play an active role in delivering Apollo's underwriting strategy and long-term growth ambitions.
You will:
Underwrite Cargo business in accordance with Apollo's underwriting strategy, risk appetite and business plan.
Build and develop strong relationships with brokers and clients across the London Market and internationally.
Contribute to portfolio strategy, business planning and profitable growth.
Monitor portfolio performance and key underwriting metrics to support informed underwriting decisions.
Collaborate with colleagues across Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Exposure Management and Compliance.
Maintain high standards of technical underwriting through peer review and continuous learning.
Represent Apollo through regular UK and international travel, meeting brokers and clients, attending industry events and identifying new business opportunities.
Help develop new products, technology-enabled distribution solutions and strategic growth initiatives.
Support and mentor colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and contributing to the continued development of the underwriting team.
What we are looking for
We're looking for a technically strong, commercially minded Cargo underwriter with an established network within the Lloyd's and London Market.
Applications are welcomed from Executive or Senior Cargo Underwriters, ambitious Cargo Underwriters ready to take the next step in their career, and experienced Cargo Brokers looking to transition into underwriting.
You will bring:
Cargo underwriting experience within the Lloyd's and London Market.
A track record of building profitable broker relationships and portfolios.
Strong commercial judgement and technical underwriting expertise.

Reserving Actuary, Partner Syndicates
Your RoleApollo's Platform Partner Syndicates business provides managing agency services to a diverse and growing portfolio of third-party syndicates operating within the Lloyd's market.As a Reserving Actuary you will join our Reserving team and support reserving activity across multiple Partner Syndicates. Working closely with the Head of Reserving and fellow Reserving Actuaries, you will deliver reserving analysis, regulatory reporting, and business insight while helping to ensure robust reserving practices across the portfolio.This is an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop your reserving expertise while gaining exposure to a range of syndicates, business models, and classes of business within a collaborative and supportive environment.What You'll Do
Lead and support the quarterly reserving process across Apollo's Partner Syndicates, including data validation, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
Assess reserve adequacy and investigate reserve movements, emerging trends, and key areas of uncertainty across multiple portfolios.
Produce reserving papers, management information, and insights for actuarial, finance, executive, and Lloyd's stakeholders.
Prepare Actuarial Function Reports (AFRs) and support other reserving-related regulatory and governance requirements.
Engage with auditors, actuarial opinion providers, and external stakeholders as required.
Support Technical Provisions calculations and associated reserving activities.
Research and apply market benchmarks to support reserving analysis and decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve reserving processes, controls, automation, and data quality.
Work closely with Claims, Finance, Capital, and Underwriting teams to strengthen business insight and reserving outcomes.
Support the analysis of new syndicates, business initiatives, and strategic projects where required.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with experience in general insurance reserving.
Reserving experience within the Lloyd's or London Market, or a comparable general insurance environment.
Experience delivering quarterly reserve reviews and communicating findings to a range of stakeholders.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, investigate trends, and explain results clearly.
Experience working with large datasets, including data validation and quality assurance.
Process improvement, automation, and efficiency-focused thinking.
SQL skills; experience with Power BI would be beneficial.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail, professional curiosity, and a collaborative approach
Syndicate Reporting Manager
Your RoleThis is more than a traditional Syndicate Reporting Manager role. While technical excellence remains at its core, this opportunity has an equally strong focus on developing people, evolving processes and using technology to enhance how regulatory reporting is delivered.Reporting to the Head of Syndicate Finance, you will lead the delivery of financial and regulatory reporting across Apollo's managed Lloyd's syndicates while playing a pivotal role in developing an established team, strengthening reporting controls and identifying opportunities to further improve efficiency through process enhancement, automation and the continued evolution of Solvency UK reporting.Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you'll bring a strong coaching and development focus while helping drive the continued evolution of syndicate reporting. You'll work closely with Digital Solutions to reduce manual intervention where appropriate and continue evolving reporting processes through automation and smarter ways of working.What you will do
Deliver financial and regulatory reporting
Lead the delivery of quarterly and annual Lloyd's financial and regulatory reporting across Apollo's managed syndicates.
Oversee the production of Syndicate Reports & Accounts and Solvency UK reporting.
Ensure reporting is delivered accurately, on time and in accordance with Lloyd's reporting requirements.
Maintain a robust governance and control environment throughout the reporting cycle.
Lead and develop the team
Coach, mentor and develop an established team, building capability and creating opportunities for continued professional growth.
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and performance management.
Foster a collaborative culture where knowledge sharing, accountability and continuous development are encouraged.
Support the ongoing evolution of the team's capability as reporting requirements continue to develop.
Enhance reporting efficiency and controls
Review existing reporting processes, identifying opportunities to further enhance efficiency, consistency and governance.
Partner with Digital Solutions to increase automation and reduce manual intervention across regulatory reporting.
Improve reporting processes through better use of technology, data and workflow enhancements.
Strengthen reporting controls, documentation and evidence to support a well-controlled reporting environment.
Challenge existing ways of working, encouraging continuous improvement while maintaining the high standards already established across the function.
What we are looking forWe're looking for an experienced Syndicate Reporting professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership capability and a genuine passion for developing others.
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
Strong experience delivering financial and regulatory reporting within the Lloyd's insurance market.
Proven experience leading, coaching and developing finance teams.
A track record of reviewing and improving reporting processes, with experience using automation and technology to increase efficiency.
Strong knowledge of Excel and Power Query, with experience of Power BI or similar reporting tools being advantageous.
A solid understanding of Solvency UK reporting and the wider regulatory reporting landscape.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence across Finance and the wider business.
