Your Role
We are looking for an Underwriting Support Technician to support our Energy Underwriting team, working closely with Underwriters to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of day to day underwriting activity. This is an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast paced environment, supporting complex risks while maintaining strong operational standards.
You will be involved across the full underwriting lifecycle, from managing submissions and inbox activity through to policy administration, premium audits, and aged debt follow up. The role suits someone who is organised, detail focused, and comfortable managing competing priorities, with regular interaction across brokers, Underwriters, and internal stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Underwriting Support
- Manage the team mailbox, coordinating submissions, endorsements, and underwriting information to support underwriting decision making
- Support Underwriters at the Lloyd’s Box and attend underwriting meetings, including preparation and minute taking where required
- Investigate and respond to policy and broker queries, ensuring clear, timely communication
- Create and issue insurance documentation, including Notices of Cancellation
- Resolve day to day operational issues, gathering underwriting information and monitoring premium payments
- Contribute to process improvements by supporting the design, testing, and documentation of enhancements, including involvement in cross department initiatives
Underwriting Administration, pre bind and post bind
- Manage the pipeline of new and renewal business, maintaining clear oversight of Energy underwriting activity
- Undertake pre bind quality assurance checks, including contract certainty
- Send slips, endorsements, and supporting documentation to outsourced partners, ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Record pricing and underwriting metrics, reviewing data quality and escalating exceptions where appropriate
- Support credit control activity, monitoring overdue premium, liaising with brokers and DXC, and managing aged debt
What We Are Looking For
- An interest in Natural Resources, including upstream Energy and renewables
- An understanding of underwriting processes and documentation, such as submissions, endorsements, and policy administration
- Strong numerical skills and clear written communication
- Experience supporting specialist or complex classes of business would be advantageous
- The ability to organise workload effectively, maintaining accuracy while managing multiple priorities
- Confidence working with brokers, Underwriters, and internal teams to support the flow of information
- Motivation to develop a long term career within underwriting
