Underwriting Support Technician (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Your Role:

We are looking for a Temporary Underwriting Support Technician to support our ibott team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact, supporting a fast-paced underwriting team and ensuring operational excellence across daily processes.

You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth flow of underwriting activity, from inbox and submission management to premium audits and aged debt follow-up. The role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a proactive approach to managing workload and broker interaction.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the ibott inbox, coordinating the flow of submissions, firm orders, and endorsements, and ensuring accurate electronic filing.
  • Support premium audit activity, including regular broker and client chasing, ingestion of activity reports, and recommendations to Underwriters on premium adjustments.
  • Monitor and manage aged debt, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with brokers to resolve overdue premium.
  • Assist with quarterly reinsurance bordereaux processes.
  • Deliver general underwriting administration support including underwriting acceptance, reference generation, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in underwriting support or technical administration within the Lloyd’s or London Market.
  • A strong understanding of underwriting processes and documentation, including submissions, endorsements, and policy administration.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Confidence in liaising with brokers, Underwriters, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of information.
