About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will take the lead on architecting and optimising our data infrastructure, enabling scalable and secure access to high-quality data. You will mentor junior engineers, lead technical design discussions, and work closely with stakeholders across product, analytics, and data science teams to shape the future of our data platform. Your work will directly influence the company’s ability to make data-informed decisions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines
  • Architect and optimize ELT workflows in dbt, ensuring performance, modularity, and alignment with evolving business needs
  • Own the integrity and design of core data models in Redshift, balancing performance and usability for stakeholders
  • Drive implementation of data governance, observability, and quality standards across all pipelines
  • Integrate complex data sources, APIs, and third-party platforms efficiently and securely
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to plan and deliver data architecture improvements aligned with company goals
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and proactively improve pipeline performance, including incident response and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to and influence data platform strategy, including evaluations of new tools, standards, and design patterns
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with proven experience in scaling data infrastructure.
  • Expert-level SQL and strong proficiency in Python or other data-related programming languages.
  • Deep experience with modern data platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt).
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, security, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience driving projects across teams.
