Job Overview

Invisible Technologies is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable writer with fishing expertise to assist with an upcoming project in which short-form written fishing content is to be evaluated by an expert. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer with deep knowledge of at least one specific fishing domain: salt water, fresh water, lakes, fly fishing, or beyond.

Required:

  • Writing and editing experience: Demonstrable experience in content creation, preferably within the outdoor, fishing, or sporting industry and the ability to cater writing style to particular areas of interest. Excellent proofreading and editing abilities to maintain a consistent, polished brand voice.
  • Fishing knowledge: Solid understanding of fishing techniques, equipment, and terminology and familiarity with different fishing styles (fly fishing, saltwater, freshwater, etc.).
  • Communication skills: Excellent ability to collaborate with product teams, marketing managers, and external partners.
  • Technical proficiency: Proficiency with content management systems preferred (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, and basic HTML (a plus).
  • Passion for the outdoors: Genuine enthusiasm for fishing and the outdoor lifestyle.

Preferred:

  • Marketing and/or SEO skills: an understanding of how compelling copy draws readers and the ways that search engines find that copy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, and basic HTML (a plus).

Other notes:

  • In your application, please note which types of fishing (saltwater, lake, flyfishing…) you’ve got experience with. We’re looking for anglers with a wide range of knowledge and expertise.
  • You should have the ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects

Pay begins between $15 - $18 / hour to top applicants anywhere in the world. The schedule requires a commitment of 40 hours weekly
