The Role

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to own and transform the user experience of ZenRows. As the most senior IC in product design, you’ll set the standard for design excellence and play a key role in shaping the future of our product. Reporting to the Product Lead, you’ll partner closely with them on discovery while also being able to drive discovery independently. You’ll have high autonomy to lead impactful projects, prototype with AI tools to realize your vision without relying on developers, and help grow the design team by mentoring new designers as the team expands. This is an individual contributor role with a focus on design excellence, not management.

Your Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end user experience of ZenRows, driving its transformation to meet customer needs and business goals.
Collaborate with the Product Lead and other team members in driving the design process, but own and execute the design work independently.
Design and iterate on innovative, AI-powered interfaces that simplify complex workflows.
Prototype with AI tools to bring your vision to life without relying on developers during the prototype phase.
Collaborate with prompt engineers to create seamless integrations for AI-driven workflows.
Use prototyping tools like Figma, Cursor, V0, or Lovable to quickly test and validate ideas with users.
Develop a consistent design system to ensure a cohesive and scalable user experience.
Mentor junior designers as the team grows, ensuring high-quality design work, without formal management responsibilities.
Stay curious and up-to-date on design trends, especially in AI and SaaS, to keep ZenRows at the forefront of innovation.

You’re a passionate, self-driven designer who takes pride in your craft and thrives in a high-impact, high-autonomy role. You’re excited about solving customer problems and creating innovative UI solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible. You’re proactive in discovery, love talking to customers, and are curious about technology and AI. You’re comfortable owning big projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving them to completion with minimal oversight. You thrive in an individual contributor role, focused on leading design projects and delivering high-quality user experiences, while mentoring others and shaping the design culture in a non-managerial capacity. Most importantly, you’re skilled at prototyping with AI tools, enabling you to bring your ideas to life without relying on developers during the early stages.

You Should Have

6+ years of experience in product design, preferably in SaaS or developer tools.
A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions, including innovative UI and AI-driven interfaces.
Proficiency with prototyping tools like Cursor, V0, or Lovable, and the ability to prototype with AI to realize your vision independently.
Experience working with prompt engineers or designing for AI workflows.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and keep stakeholders aligned.
A proactive approach to discovery, including user research and customer interviews, with the ability to partner with the Product Lead or drive it independently.
Passion for your craft, with a focus on creating elegant, impactful designs.
Curiosity about technology and AI, with a desire to stay ahead of trends.
Experience interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring other designers.
Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design.
