Senior Research Executive
We are looking for a talented Senior Research Executive to join our team in Milan. You will be running and supporting local research projects on a whole host of topics. You’ll be working closely with clients to design and deliver research which hits their brief and is clear, unbiased and stands up to scrutiny (thanks to YouGov’s amazing reputation for accuracy and media presence). The role relies on excellent communication and time management skills.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
- Research: Designing questionnaires and research/sample designs, often under time-constraints, recommending appropriate methods to meet clients’ research objectives, aiding in the reporting and communication of findings
- Analysis and reporting: Accurately interpreting clients’ final data, employing attention to detail and basic knowledge of statistics to recognize when findings are inaccurate or unclear, and guiding them through the results in YouGov’s data analytics software
- Presentations and commercial experience: visiting, calling and engaging with clients and would-be clients to get them excited about our research solutions
- Client communication: Liaising effectively with clients and collaborators whilst being the main day-to-day contact for clients
- Project management: Coordinating and managing different tasks and supporting teams to ensure projects run smoothly and effectively, and delivered accurately and on time
- Stakeholder interaction: Where necessary, working with and managing research suppliers to ensure accurate data collection that is in-line with YouGov’s methods, whilst keeping costs reasonable
- Commercial responsiveness: Dealing with speculative enquiries, interpreting requirements of a research specification effectively, and being able to write proposals with minimal guidance in order to win projects.
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- 3-5 years max of experience in market research
- Experience of simultaneously running multiple market research projects (including client contact, survey design and report writing)
- Strong written and verbal communication (ITA/ENG)
- A strong understanding and experience of primary research across methods and sectors
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to use initiative, negotiate and influence
- Excellent client focus and handling skills
- MS Office skills and understanding of basic statistics
- Problem solving, analytical and numerical skills
Behavioural competencies that would be great to have:
- You are approachable and supportive
- Priority setting – you focus on what matters to get the right things done
- Solution focused – the ability to proactively identify change & improvements (e.g. around processes)
- Strategic agility – you focus on the bigger picture, considering yourself, the wider YouGov teams and your clients
- Accountability and ownership of your work and complex tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to get your point across when dealing with all stakeholders (the team, wider colleagues and clients)
What’s in it for me?
- This role will give you experience in connecting data (using and integrating existing data from YouGov’s database and ad hoc surveys)
- YouGov is a global organisation, providing you with an international environment and chance to collaborate closely between YouGov’s European offices
- You will be actively participating in the development of a successful company that is embracing technology
- You will be in a working environment that encourages personal development
- We will also provide you with a competitive salary
