Senior Legal Operations Manager
Here’s a summary of the role
Are you an operations-minded legal professional ready to shape the future of legal delivery at a fast-paced, global tech business? This brand-new role gives you the chance to build and lead a Legal Operations function from scratch — with direct access to senior leaders, meaningful impact, and global reach.
Here’s what it’s all about:
As the Senior Legal Operations Manager, your role is all about enabling a smart, efficient, and scalable legal function. You’ll bring clarity and structure to how legal advice is delivered across the business by introducing best-in-class systems, managing legal spend, and streamlining workflows. You’ll be the go-to expert on legal tech, team operations, outside counsel management, and internal reporting. If you're someone who thrives at the intersection of law, tech, and business operations, this is your kind of role.
This is a hybrid role, requiring at least two days per week in the office. We support your work-life balance with a mix of in-office collaboration and home-based productivity.
Regrettably, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship, so you must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
- Build and implement a legal operations strategy to support a global in-house legal team
- Lead the selection and roll-out of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and create a business-focused records taxonomy
- Oversee engagement with external law firms – tracking spend, managing authorisations, and measuring performance
- Support budgeting, KPI tracking, and reporting for the Legal department
- Help coordinate internal team development, professional training compliance, and legal team activities
- Act as the key liaison between Legal and other business functions to streamline cross-functional workflows and reduce risk
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
- 3-5 years of experience working in-house at a global company in a legal operations role
- Experience implementing legal technology and associated systems and processes
- Excellent academics
- A pragmatic and process-driven approach to tasks and reporting
Behavioural competencies:
- High levels of personal organisation and time management
- A consensual and collaborative approach to work and relationship building
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A commitment to YouGov values
It would be great if you had these too, but we’ll support you if you don’t:
- Prior experience in a lawyer or paralegal role
- Experience in an intellectual property or data-centric business (e.g., marketing, media, tech, advertising, publishing)
