Data Operations Assistant

YouGov Shopper monitors the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market in Belgium by tracking purchase behavior of 6.000 families. These households continuously register their grocery purchases via our YouGov Shopper app. The data collected from these daily purchases allows us to analyze market trends in Belgium and report our findings to clients, including manufacturers and retailers.

Your Role

As a Data Operations Assistant, you’ll be part of our data management team, responsible for maintaining and enriching our product and purchase databases. Your core responsibility will be to accurately classify new products, primarily everyday supermarket items, and ensure the quality and consistency of our data.

What You’ll Do

• Classify new FMCG products by assigning the correct attributes and values.
• Perform quality checks on purchase data using our internal tools and guidelines.

• Support the team lead in procedures that uphold our high data quality standards.

What You Bring

• A curious mindset and the ability to combine information from multiple sources to complete our database.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused, even when working on repetitive tasks or handling large volumes of information.
• Fluency in Dutch and a good command of English.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to suggest improvements to existing processes.
• Excellent MS Office skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and systems.

• A bachelor’s or graduate degree could be an asset, but a can-do mindset is what matters most.
