Here’s a summary of the role:    

YouGov is offering an exciting 12-month Graduate Programme in our Commercial function designed to give you invaluable hands-on experience in both Data Products and Client Engagement roles, providing a solid foundation for your career in-house. This unique rotational programme offers you the opportunity to experience two six-month placements across YouGov’s Data Products and Client Engagement Management Teams. 

During your time in the Data Products Client Services team, you’ll be an important member of the Data Products team supporting a range of clients subscribing to our suite of syndicated tools. Your responsibilities will include onboarding and guiding client users on YouGov’s products, leveraging those systems to build reports and conduct ad hoc analyses, and delivering analytical insights and recommendations to our customers. You will support YouGov clients ranging from Fortune 100s to fast-growing companies, spanning a variety of industries including Retail, FMCG, Food & Dining, Financial Services, Insurance, Technology, Social Media, Advertising Agencies, and more.   

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):  

Data Products Client Services Key Responsibilities: 

In this role you will be working closely with senior members of the Client Service team to ensure we are driving successful outcomes for our clients. You will gain valuable experience and develop a broad skill set through your on-the-job responsibilities, specifically:  

  • Data product fluency: Become knowledgeable in all of YouGov’s tools, gaining a deep understanding of the user interfaces and data, translating that knowledge to our clients   
  • Teaching others: Support onboarding and ongoing training efforts with new and existing clients to ensure they are getting the most value out of our data products   
  • Analytic application: Design and deliver re-occurring Insights reports to clients addressing their core insight needs, including (but not limited to) Brand Tracking, Market Sizing, and Audience Identification & Profiling  
  • Insights discovery & story telling:  Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations, addressing client’s ad hoc business questions  
  • Internal collaboration: Partnering with commercial and product dev teams to provide a positive client experience that promotes partnership growth  

Client Engagement Key Responsibilities 

As a Client Engagement graduate program associate at YouGov you will support the Head of Client Engagement and a group of CEM Managers to:   

  • Manage client relationships by maintaining communication, understanding their needs, and ensuring smooth service delivery by coordinating with internal teams, often including tasks like scheduling meetings, updating client information, handling inquiries, and resolving issues. 
  • Essentially acting as a bridge between YouGov and CEM clients (portfolio of 160+ clients) across a variety of sectors. 
  • You will learn how to utilize cross selling and upselling, which will help increase the value of CEM account groups year on year. 
  • You will join client calls and learn how to qualify leads more efficiently. 
  • You will work with the CEM VP to build up account growth plans for top clients and also contribute to strategic targeting of brands/sectors for marketing to target and develop new business opportunities. 
  • You will be collaborating continuously with the research teams to properly scope out projects and pricing for clients 
  • Proactively engaging with clients to help build stickier relationships. 
  • You will help CRM to maintain excellent CRM records in accordance with YouGov best practice (Salesforce, Gong, etc) 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher. A degree in a marketing or a research field is a plus (i.e., economics, psychology, business, marketing, market research, analytics, etc.)  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office’s Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • An eye for detail and ability to put together accurate deliverables in a timely fashion 
  • Ability to uncover client research needs by asking the right questions 
  • Appropriate solution & proposal development and collaborative sales experience 
  • Excellent grasp of research methodologies and applications to suit client objectives 
  • Intellectually curious, with a strong interest in solving problems with data and story telling 
  • Enthusiastic, a willing and quick learner with a drive to succeed 
  • Service-oriented mentality, with a desire to work in a client facing role 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to craft a persuasive narrative  
  • Uncompromising attention to detail  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Effective team player, eager to collaborate with teammates and clients                                   

It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t: 

  • Prior work experience as a researcher or analyst, or experience of converting data into stories 
  • Experience of working on client-facing projects 
  • Knowledge of business intelligence programs (ex. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

For roles based in California, New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is USD 58,655 - USD 68,640
 
Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
