Survey Operations Analyst

Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a knack for coding and data? As a Survey Analyst in YouGov’s Scientific Research Group (SRG), you’ll play a key role in bringing complex, high-impact research to life. From academics and policy think tanks to corporate clients, your work will shape projects at the cutting edge of health, technology, and public affairs. This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role for someone who loves turning ideas into structured, scalable surveys.

 

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  • Program complex online surveys using YouGov’s proprietary Python-based scripting language
  • Set up surveys across multiple countries and languages
  • Test surveys across browsers and devices to ensure smooth participant experience
  • Monitor fieldwork and troubleshoot data collection or programming issues
  • Clean and prepare datasets for delivery to researchers and clients

 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:

  • Basic programming experience (Python or similar)
  • Familiarity with statistical packages or data tools (e.g., R, SPSS, SQL)
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to handle large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in fast-paced, high-volume settings
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Clear communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across teams

 

It would be great if you had these too:

  • Prior experience or academic training in survey research
  • Knowledge of survey design principles and fieldwork logistics
  • Interest in public affairs, health, academic or technology research
  • Experience with data cleaning and transforming messy data into usable outputs

 

For roles based in California, New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 USD

Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation and additional benefits.
