About the Role

 

As an on-site Operations Senior Engineer, you are responsible for all assets in the data center. Because the data center is a highly critical environment, the stakes are high and you will have an important stake in the fulfilling of the Yondr operational tasks.

 

To enable you to fulfil this responsibility, you will be defining and optimizing the maintenance regime for your assets, approving operational procedures for the maintenance. You will be the key resource on site during incident management as well as auditing after completion. To ensure optimal functioning of your assets, you will approve root cause analysis and improvements after incidents happen, as well as propose improvements to optimise the functioning of the assets. For the

 

implementation of these improvements, you will act as key stake holder for the site and oversee the integration of projects into operations. While there is sufficient flexibility ito working hours this role is primarily site based.

 

Main Responsibilities

/ Support Critical Facility Manager in ensuring 100% uptime of the data center while using all reasonable means and methods to achieve while Health & Safety obligations are kept in mind.

/ Be overall responsible and first point of contact for all Electrical/Mechanical and Control aspects on site.

/ Responsible for the life cycle management evaluation of all assets

/ Write technical specifications and reports as part of continuous improvement.

/ Ensuring complete compliance with Yondr Group processes and procedures, also ensuring local in-house staff and FM provider demonstrate compliance with processes and procedures

/ Monitor the maintenance program of assets and coordinate these activities with the FM provider

/ Review of procedures for normal and emergency operations on an annual basis

/ Providing information and assisting in all relevant site reports. These could be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual and will be of technical nature

/ Responsible for the preparation of project technical justifications and risk assessments originating from site problem management process.

/ Responsible & key accountable person for integrating projects into daily operations

/ Respond to incidents and support the FM teams in problem solving

/ Support Critical Facility Manager with statutory registrations and asset management to ensure compliance with local regulations

/ Develop and maintain vendor relationships ensuring continuous technical professional development

/ Review and approve RCA from FM provider within the CAFM system

/ Part of the on call team for the site

 

Qualifications and experience

/ A bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent (Preference to Electrical)

/ At least 8 - 10 years relevant working experience in mission critical facilities

/ Good knowledge of standard practices in the design, construction and operation of mission critical facilities

/ Good knowledge of standard practices in commissioning and testing of equipment

/ Good understanding of the daily business / contractual responsibilities and impacts of mission critical facilities

/ Experience in technical development of projects including document management

/ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
