About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage complex accounting activities, including month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations. They ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance, assist with audits, and analyze financial data to support management decision-making.

Reporting Line: Head of Accounting, audit and Tax

Worksite: Remote

Contract Duration: 6 to 12 months with possibility if extension 

 

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting in Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring high-quality bookkeeping
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close
• Prepare IFRS financial statements and supporting disclosures
• Reconcile data across various systems, investigate breaks and drive root-cause resolution
• Process payroll in compliance with regulations, coordinate with HR and payroll providers
• Lead VAT compliance, determine correct treatment, prepare and submit VAT returns, and ensure timely payments
• Manage corporate income tax computations, filings, payments, and correspondence with tax authorities
• Maintain robust supporting documentation, schedules, summary tables, and audit trail
• Coordinate the annual financial audit end-to-end; liaise with auditors and external advisors
• Drive process improvements and automation; strengthen controls, documentation, and reporting quality

 

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in accounting/finance/economics is a must
• ACCA / CPA / ACA (or equivalent) qualified or in progress
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting position
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS with hands-on experience in complex areas (financial instruments, business combinations, share-based payments, leases, revenue recognition).
• Advanced VAT expertise, including cross-border transactions, financial services VAT, and partial exemption / partial attribution
• Good understanding of transfer pricing principles (intercompany arrangements, recharges, documentation support)
• Proven experience supporting external audits and delivering audit-ready documentation
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivoting, Power Query / data transforms, complex formulas)
• Comfort working with large datasets and multiple source systems
• Financial services industry experience (bank, brokerage, fintech) is an advantage
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
